ThreadBanger: Funky, Frugal DIY Fashion Ideas

I discovered ThreadBanger on YouTube a year ago. I’m constantly amazed and amused at the funky variety of recycled and inexpensive (or free) DIY fashion design ideas the hosts, Rob and Corinne, come up with and present in short, snappy video demonstrations.
Would I wear any of the recycled-materials fashions they present? Yeah, I think I’d wear a few of them, although some are obviously for teens and college students. Most of ThreadBanger’s clothing projects are easy to accomplish, even for those folks with limited sewing or crafting skills. All of them are fairly quick and are cheap, cheap, cheap to make–and we LIKE that at the Frugal Café. Most of the materials used would have ended up in a landfill.
During these rough economic times, ThreadBanger gives fun and valuable solutions to work around and with a diminished fashion/clothing budget.
Cheap, chic, and unique, these fashion-making projects would also be excellent, thrifty craft projects for youth groups, homeschoolers, and avid recyclers. Lack of funds doesn’t mean lack of fun.
