AZ Protestors Angry with Pork-Ridden Stimulus Bill; Prez Obama Visits Grand Canyon State to Convince Voters It Is the Best Plan Available for Crisis

This morning, my home state was in the national eye. President Barack Obama was here in Arizona! (Oooh, ahhh! Sounds of feigned excitement).
As part of his ongoing campaigning for his socialist “redistribution of wealth” package, Pres. Barack Obama spoke at Dobson High School in Arizona, providing yet more rhetoric, little substance, on the newly signed stimulus bill, the most expensive in all of US history. Nothing really new (did we expect it?) was offered, nor any specifics. He pretty much reiterated much of his Hallmark-inspired platitudes that we heard for months and months during his campaign stumping. However, he DID look dapper at the podium. Does that count for anything? Bleh.
Protesters of all ages were out in full force outside the high school (or as close to it as the Secret Service would allow prior to the president’s arrival), as shown in the photos below. Popular, local conservative radio talk show hosts JD Hayworth (former 6-term AZ Congressman) and Bruce Jacobs from Arizona radio station KFYI were also at the orderly protest. Citizens who attended the rally wanted Obama to know that the stimulus bill is regarded as horribly written, filled with pork barrel spending, outrageously expensive, and a generational theft for our children and their children.
Most voters in Arizona don’t support passage of the bloated “porkulus” package, feeling too much in the bill does nothing for the economy, and what help there is will be given to those who either don’t pay taxes, made poor choices, or are illegal aliens, while hardworking, tax-paying citizens who have exercised caution and better fiscal judgment will be penalized with higher taxes and fewer rights. The bill is viewed by a majority of Americans as a greedy Democrat wish list that has little to do with stimulating the economy and will plunge the country deeper into debt.
Photos below are from the KFYI website’s photo gallery. Click to enlarge the thumbnail photos for better viewing. No explanations or captions of the photos are really necessary. Obama arrived last night, stayed at a luxury resort location in Paradise Valley, met a select group in Mesa at the high school (apparently, the audience was not in the same building with Obama. Only a few students were chosen to attend the “up close and personal,” along with a number of state and city officials and a handful of supporters; the rest were elsewhere on the school campus, watching his telecast speech). For more photos of the AZ event, Michelle Malkin’s blog has other hilarious pics of “gimme stuff” signs carried by tongue-in-cheek conservative protestors. No violence, no racism, no profanity. Just, “Queen-for-a-Day gimme stuff” like he gave to Henrietta and the McDonald’s guy last week – too funny!
