If we were directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we would soon want for bread.

Pres. Barack Obama has just released a few of the details of the administration’s operating budget, and kids, it’s scary. Real scary. And angering.

In the Democrats’ relentless thirst to tax just “the villainous rich,” Obama has overreached and the present grandiose plan can’t be paid for by just America’s rich. It’s too big, too porkstatic.

So, what to do? Trim it? Make it more realistic? I know, if you discover that your electric bill is too high for you to pay, you cut goodies out elsewhere in your family budget, while resolving to cut back on your air conditioning or heating.

But this budget doesn’t do that. It defies logic. It’s reckless, punch-drunk giddy with a “hey, gimme mo NOW’” attitude (Grande Dame Nancy Pelosi thinks we should tax MORE than we do, and this budget should have been launched sooner). It demands bigger and bigger government.

For the “I just can’t look” bloody details, Michelle Malkin has posted many of the most grievous items in the budget. To all the rich people who are reading this, I am so sorry for this heinous attack on your success and your pursuit of the American dream, but if it’s any comfort, in a few months’ time, middle-class Americans will be joining you. The national debt is about to explode and the infiltration of government into our everyday lives and the personal choices we make in those lives has been compromised one more time by Big Government. Our uses of electricity, gas, coal, and other forms of “non-green” energy will be further taxed or outlawed.

And to all the charities out there that depend on the generosity of donations from America’s rich, start yanking in that buckle now, because your life’s blood donations will dry up faster than an ice cream cone dropped on the sands of the Sahara in the middle of summer.

Here’s one paragraph from Malkin’s post:

In 2009, federal spending will approach $4 trillion, or 28 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) – a one-third increase in the size of government in a single year. The budget released by the White House today is loaded with job-killing tax hikes and a slate of even more government spending. Overall, the blueprint projects a record $1.75 trillion deficit this year while doubling the national debt over the next ten years. Following are just 10 fast facts about the Administration’s budget, which our children and grandchildren will be paying for far into the future.

Economists are up in arms over this ill-conceived budget, but Washington is ignoring them. The Administration’s projected budget deficit of $1.75 trillion is higher than the last five years of deficits combined, and under this plan, we will see three consecutive trillion-dollar deficits between now and FY 2012. This is unforgivable and unnecessary. This budget has NOTHING to do with the huge porkulus stimulus bill from last week, although ACORN will be paid money from this budget and from last week’s bill. This is over and beyond that. Heaven help us – the vault is thrown wide open.

Gird your loins, America – Jefferson was right, and with this monstrosity of a budget, our “want of bread” appears to be just around the corner. What this trillion-dollar budget proposes can NOT be sustained for long. Robbing from Peter to pay Paul has never worked, nor has robbing from both Peter and Paul so as to pay a small portion back to Paul. The house of cards is beginning to tumble…

And don’t just blame the Democrats for this fiscal nightmare… a number of our so-called conservative Republican representatives in Congress have also given their okey-dokey for this unprecedented money grab. Irresponsible, galling, and frightening. And as always, rewarding the losers, the parasites, and punishing those who worked hard to succeed and be financially responsible. This tax-crazy spree will grow our government to a mammoth size our nation has never before seen. Our founding fathers, in all their prophetic wisdom about the insatiable appetite some men have for power, tried to prevent this from happening to America.

I miss Ronald Reagan. And I wish that we had another Thomas Jefferson or James Madison in the wings.
