Let Them Eat Steak! Wastrel Obama on Collision Course with His Spendthrift Ways

I truly love Michelle Malkin. In her spot-on blog post today, she used the word “thrift” twice and “frugality” once. She’s a tenacious, conservative gal who embraces the philosophies of the Frugal Café. Great post: Cube-steak Americans vs. the Wagyu-beef White House Here’s are a couple of our favorite snippets:

Maybe thrift isn’t dead after all. The Year of the Bottomless Bailout has yielded a much-needed correction in the lives of ordinary Americans. While government fiscal restraint is AWOL in Washington, individual frugality has made a cultural comeback. Better late than never…

President Obama, celebrated by his liberal media admirers for a miraculous ability to groove with the common man, hasn’t yet caught on to the new age of individual austerity. As always, he talks a good game of “personal responsibility” and “sacrifice.” But while penny-pinching Americans head to Sonic Drive-Ins for $1 everyday value meals or stay at home for cheap cube-steak dinners (sales of the inexpensive meat are up 10 percent), the White House serves up high-grade wagyu beef to congressional revelers. The luxury item was on the menu for the bipartisan stimulus dinner in January and was also served up at the governors’ dinner hosted at the White House two weeks ago.

Our POTUS, God save us all

Our POTUS, God save us all

President Obama has an insatiable lust for the good life (for himself), the pricier things available in this life (for himself), the trappings of successful capitalism (for himself), while hypocritically trying to force oppressive socialist policy into the very fabric of our capitalist nation—socialist policy that happily denies that same “good life” for the very American taxpayers who work hard to earn it. Workers are bad, freeloaders are good. No, Obama would rather eat that ridiculously expensive steak from Japan and deny the middle-class the same, all in the name of “fairness.” In all honesty, I’m not interested in eating that wagyu beef, knowing I’d never enjoy eating it. No matter how tasty it would be, I know I would start to violently choke, knowing it cost $100 per pound. How many bags of groceries would one bloody steak have bought for an average family in a financial crisis and nightmare in Arkansas or Maine or California? We’re all counting pennies and eating hot dogs while our elected government officials eat beef that has been hand caressed.

America, we must stand up and loudly voice our dissension and disgust about this unprecedented power grab and double standard, this class division and failed idea of redistributing wealth. They are OUR servants, the president is a temporary steward of our nation’s Constitution. Where in the Constitution does it say everyone deserves to be bailed out from bad financial decisions? That increased taxation is the answer to our problems? That government needs to infiltrate as many areas of your life because you’re too stupid to live properly?

Is this America? It sure doesn’t look like it much anymore. The growing elitist attitude and overreaching by this new White House administration to totally recreate America, while shafting our kids and their kids with a ridiculous, unproven plan that they even admit may not work, is NOT the change many voters wanted when they voted for the man. How hypocritical POTUS flew with the wife, the kids, the grandma, a bunch of White House staffers to Chicago for dinner on the taxpayers’ dime, while Democrat leaders had earlier ripped royally into automobile CEOs about them using their own private jets (and Nancy Pelosi has her own, too, that she uses every week to fly back and forth from San Francisco to Washington, DC, a first for a Speaker of the House). How Obama wants to stimulate the economy with his health care plan. How does that stimulate anything? He wants to implement socialized (called “universal”) health care, despite the evidence that it has failed miserably. Canada is scared to death, because America had the best health care in the world, and now, what can Canadians do if ours becomes as terrible as their socialized health care? No more popping down into America for that heart surgery or knee operation they were denied in their home country. No more creme de la creme dental work. Yes, our health care system has problems (it is not broken, as Obama claims. To see a health system that is REALLY broken, just glance at Cuba’s or Venezuela’s or England’s or Sweden’s or Canada’s – not for those with a weak stomach). But ours is still among the BEST IN THE WORLD.

Too much grabbing from this young administration—too capricious, too arrogant, too short-sighted, too anti-capitalism, too wild and frivolous with taxpayers’ money to help lazy non-taxpayers. Let them eat steak for now… because I sense the beginning of revolution is in the air in America.
