Hypocrisy Exposed in White House: Speaker of the House Pelosi’s Elitist ‘Flying the Friendly Skies in Style’ on America’s Dime

Ah, the glitterati lifestyle of Speaker of the House Pelosi! Makes you feel all tingly and happy and hopey and changey all over, doesn’t it?

Nancy Pelosi is the first US house speaker to have her very own private jet. Speaker Newt Gingrich didn’t have one under Bush, Speaker John Dennis Hastert didn’t have one. But Speaker Pelosi does. And it’s a really big one, too.
It must be frustrating for her, standing in those lines at the DC airport and having to be in the same aircraft as the unwashed masses of the country she represents (and maybe even assigned to a dreaded middle seat). Pelosi was criticized and backhanded in 2007 for requesting a 42-seat Air Force carrier to ferry herself and her staff back and forth between San Francisco, CA and Washington, DC every week, which was denied. So, she has her own jet now to do her coast-to-coast popping-about. Fill ‘er up, American taxpayers won’t notice how much money is dumped weekly by her fuel pump to “fly the friendly skies” (reference to an old ad tagline for United Airlines). Yep, we’re footing the bill for this reckless use of taxpayers’ money.
This is getting wholly out of hand. When does this putrid crud ever, ever, ever stop? Not only is Pelosi a shrill, vengeful power monger, but this private jet is a bloated monstrosity of elitist privilege in America. Pelosi has been consistently pulling a “Marie Antoinette” about her outrageous expectation of luxury. Are you paying attention, San Francisco voters? “Queen Pelosi” is from your neck of the woods. Wouldn’t you agree that this is yet another bloody slice in the “death by a thousand cuts” to our nation’s economy and principles? Where is the outrage?
Pelosi was one of the loudest critics when automobile CEOs flew to DC in THEIR private jets, and she viciously trash-talked Citi-Group’s purchase of its own private jet (in all fairness, we understand that the jet was ordered and paid for long before the bailout request, and was meant to help with building business contacts). But Pelosi has definite ideas about WHO should have the luxury of a private jet, or following the imminent rampant taxation and socialization of America, if there will be any luxury at all for the common folk. She, apparently, is one of the few who is so privileged.
But there is now a rainbow on the stormy horizon. Commentator Michelle Malkin has two excellent posts, Air Pelosi and Nancy Pelosi: The Jennifer Lopez of Congressional Travelers, that reveal that there are now serious questions being posed by the US Department of Defense, questioning the appropriateness of Pelosi’s requests for spouses, family, friends, and staff to be included in military travel. Her abuse of her own private jet now extends to that of the Air Force’s aircraft. The breaking story below from Judicial Watch details the investigation.

House Speaker Issued Unprecedented Demands for Military Aircraft and Wasted Taxpayer Resources with Last Minute CancellationsJudicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has obtained documents from the Department of Defense (DOD) detailing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s multiple requests for military air travel. The documents, obtained by Judicial Watch through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), include internal DOD email correspondence detailing attempts by DOD staff to accommodate Pelosi’s numerous requests for military escorts and military aircraft as well as the speaker’s last minute cancellations and changes. The following are a few highlights from the documents, which are linked in full below:
* In response to a series of requests for military aircraft, one Defense Department official wrote, “Any chance of politely querying [Pelosi's team] if they really intend to do all of these or are they just picking every weekend?…[T]here’s no need to block every weekend ‘just in case’…” The email also notes that Pelosi’s office had, “a history of canceling many of their past requests.”
* One DOD official complained about the “hidden costs” associated with the speaker’s last minute changes and cancellations. “We have… folks prepping the jets and crews driving in (not a short drive for some), cooking meals and preflighting the jets, etc.”
* The documents include a discussion of House Ethics rules and Defense Department policies as they apply to the speaker’s requests for staff, spouses and extended family to accompany her on military aircraft. In May 2008, for example, Pelosi requested that her husband join her on a Congressional Delegation (CODEL) into Iraq. The DOD explained to Pelosi that the agency has a written policy prohibiting spouses from joining CODEL’s into combat zones.
* Documents obtained from the U.S. Army include correspondence from Speaker Pelosi’s office requesting an Army escort and three military planes to transport Pelosi and other members of Congress to Cleveland, Ohio, for the funeral services of the late Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Pelosi noted in her letter of August 22, 2008, that such a request, labeled “Operation Tribute” was an “exception to standard policy.”
* The documents also detail correspondence from intermediaries for Speaker Pelosi issuing demands for certain aircraft and expressing outrage when requested military planes were not available. “It is my understanding there are no G5s available for the House during the Memorial Day recess. This is totally unacceptable…The speaker will want to know where the planes are…” wrote Kay King, Director of the House Office of Interparliamentary Affairs. In a separate email, when told a certain type of aircraft would not be available, King writes, “This is not good news, and we will have some very disappointed folks, as well as a very upset [s]peaker.”
* During another email exchange DOD staff advised Kay King that one Pelosi military aircraft request could not be met because of “crew rest requirements” and offered to help secure commercial travel. Kay King responded: “We appreciate the efforts to help the codel [sic] fly commercially but you know the problem that creates with spouses. If we can find another way to assist with military assets, we would like to do that.”
Speaker Pelosi came under fire in 2007 for requesting a 42-seat Air Force carrier to ferry the Speaker and her staff back and forth between San Francisco, CA and Washington, DC. Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert was allowed access to a 12-seat commuter jet for security reasons after the events of 9/11.
“Taken together, these documents show that Speaker Pelosi treats the Air Force like her personal airline,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “Not only does Speaker Pelosi issue unreasonable requests for military travel, but her office seems unconcerned about wasting taxpayer money with last minute cancellations and other demands.”

Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is the Jennifer Lopez of congressional travel – fickle, demanding, and notoriously insensitive to the time, costs, and energy needed to accommodate her endless demands. On Tuesday, the indispensable government watchdog Judicial Watch released a trove of public records through the Freedom of Information Act on Pelosi’s travel arrangements with the U.S. military.
As Speaker of the House, Pelosi is entitled to a reasonable level of military protection and transport. But it’s the size of the planes, the frequency of requests and last-minute cancellations, and the political nature of many of her trips that scream out for accountability.
And, of course, it’s the double-barreled hypocrisy. There’s the eco-hypocrisy of the Democrat leader who wags her finger at the rest of us for our too-big carbon footprints and crusades for massive taxes and regulation to reduce global warming. Then there’s the Bay Area hypocrisy of the woman who represents one of the most anti-military areas of the country soaking up military resources to shuttle her (and her many family members) across the country almost every weekend.

We will teach them that the poisons are good, with fun images and musical tones. Those they look up to will help. We will enlist them to push our poisons. They will see our products being used in film and will grow accustomed to them and will never now their true effect. When they give birth we will Inject poisons into blood of their children and convince them its for their help. We sill start early on, when their minds are young, we will target their children With what children love most, sweet things. When their teeth decay we will fill them with metals that will kill their mind and steal their future. When their ability to learn has been affected, we will create medicine that will make them sicker and cause other disease for which we will create yet more medicine. We will render them docile and weak before us by our Power. They will grow depressed, slow and obese, and when they come to us for help, we Will give them more Poison. We will focus their attention towards MONEY and MATERIAL GOODS so they many never connect with their inner self. We will distract them with fornication, external pleasures and Games so they may never be one with the Oneness of it all.
Their minds will belong to us and they will do as we say. If they refuse we shall find ways to implement mind-altering technology into their lives. We will use fear as our weapon. We will establish their governments and establish opposites within. We will own both sides. We will always hide our objective but carry out our plan. We will use all the tools we have to accomplish this. The tools will be provided by their labor. We will make them hate themselves and their neigbours. We will always hide the Divine truth from them, that we are all one. This they must never Know!!!! They must never know that COLOR is an illusion, they Must always think they are not equal. Drop by Drop, drop by drop we will advance our Goal. We will take over their land, resources and wealth to exercise Total control over them. We will deceive them into accepting laws that will steal the little freedom they will have. We will establish a MONEY System that will Imprison them forever, keeping them and their children in DEBT. When they shall ban together, we shall accuse them of Crimes and present a different story to the WORLD for we shall own all the MEDIA. We will use our media to control the flow of information and their sentiment in our favor. When they shall Rise up against us we will CRUSH them like Insects, for they are less than that. They will never reach the Higher Realms, for the Killing pf their own kind will prevent passage to the realm of Enlightenment. This they will never know. The Truth will be hidden in their face, so close they will not be able to focus on it until its too late. Oh yes, so grand the Illusion of freedom will be that they Will never know they are our slaves. When all is in place, the reality we will have created for them will own them. This reality will be their prison. They will live in self delusion. When our Goal is accomplished a new era of domination will begin. Their minds will be bound by their beliefs, the beliefs we have established from time Immemorial. But if they ever Find out they are our equal, we shall perish then. THIS THEY MUST NEVER KNOW.
If they ever find out that together they can vanquish us, they will take action. They must never, ever find out what we have done, for if they do, we shall have no Place to run, for it will be easy to see who we are once the Veil has fallen.
