Obama, O-Bore-Ma: Presidential Press Conference Offered Same-Old, Same-Old

Our POTUS, God save us all

Our POTUS, God save us all

Pres. Barack Obama was shockingly boring and predictable in his presidential press conference.

The man who has made women swoon by uttering sophomoric Hallmark rhetoric, who has brought grown liberal men to tears (and to some, tingles up the leg), who has flocks of welfare fans leaving the comfort of their couches to arrive whenever he speaks in public (average, since being inaugurated, number of times speaking in public anywhere in the US: about once or twice a week), was snooze-ville on Tuesday night. He preempted American Idol for this rerun of blah-blah-blah “skin in the game, save the economy by socializing health care, Tim Geithner rocks!” crud? No wonder Simon Cowell wouldn’t go out to dinner with him last week when he was in Los Angeles (just kidding… or maybe not).

Nothing in his speech inspired or gave concrete details, nor did his stammering offer comfort or cajole angry Americans. Nothing was said that suggests he may be on to something that would benefit the country. Just the same-old stuff: More sacrifice, more Bush blaming, more money, more government, more taxes, more “free” government health care, more worry about all the homeless children roaming the country (whoa, that was new – 1 in 50, he says, but doesn’t say that stat also includes all the children who are living with a grandparent or someone other than a blood parent – eye-rolling, mega-shame on using that inane National Enquirer-esque statistic).

How long does it take for him to actually answer a question, for goodness sake? I could’ve made a sandwich, started the laundry, and fed the cats in the amount of time it took for him to respond to the AIG bonus debacle question. And did he really even ANSWER the question? There was a bigger-than-usual, 52-inch-screen teleprompter feeding him information. Bigger must mean s-l-o-w-e-r.

Is anyone timing him? Can you imagine asking him, if in a burning building, where the fire exits are? “Uh, look, I inherited the, uh, uh, uh, uh… as I’ve said before, we must, uh, must, uh, take measures to uh, uh…” We’d be crispy critters by the time he finally said anything useful.

Obama doesn’t get it and doesn’t care. He doesn’t hear the tea parties of taxation protest from citizens across the nation, doesn’t read the newspapers (well, those that are still on life-support, anyway) decrying his socialist, crash-and-burn agenda and continuing economic problems, doesn’t realize that his Democrat leaders are freaking out about his inept (or diabolical?) plans to bankrupt the country and destroy the Constitution, doesn’t believe he needs to use antiperspirant to win the mesmerized people’s hearts and support and applause.

Obama, O-Bore-Ma… just a few more press conferences like last night’s, and your teleprompter’s approval ratings will be higher than your own. Can’t wait to read the latest Zogby poll after last night’s yawner. You might need to schedule a guest TV appearance next week on Survivor.
