POTUS Barack Obama, President Pander

The White House kept his travel agenda secret while President Obama has been conducting his “Magical Mystery Apology Tour” of Europe and Turkey, following his attendance at the G20 Summit. Since he’s been bashing America and its involvement in Iraq everywhere a microphone has been thrust into his face, there should be some choice tragicomedy resulting.

Questions we all are dying to know: Will the 12 POTUS teleprompters also participate in the delivery of Obama’s Iraq speeches? To whom will Obama pander? Will he apologize to the people of Iraq and Kuwait for America having the audacity of saving and liberating them from the barbaric Saddam Hussein? What will Michelle be wearing in the war zone?

Here’s preliminary info from Reuters:

Obama hopes visit to Iraq can help resolve problems
April 7, 2009

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – President Barack Obama flew to Baghdad on Tuesday to meet U.S. military commanders and Iraqi leaders and assess security there first-hand after announcing a strategy to wind down the six-year war he opposed.

Obama’s visit to Baghdad was shrouded in the security-conscious secrecy that marked similar trips made by his predecessor George W. Bush, whose foreign policy legacy was defined by the unpopular war that he launched in 2003 to topple Saddam Hussein.

The visit was not publicized beforehand and was made known only after Air Force One, flying from Istanbul at the end of Obama’s first major international tour, had touched down at Baghdad International Airport. Obama’s arrival came a day after a string of seemingly coordinated bombings across the Iraqi capital killed 37 people. On Tuesday, a car bomb killed nine people and wounded 20 in the Shi’ite Kadhimiya district of northwest Baghdad, police said.

Under Obama’s new Iraq war strategy, announced in February, the roughly 140,000 U.S. troops now in Iraq will be drawn down to between 35,000 and 50,000 — a number that anti-war critics consider too high — by the end of August 2010. The mission of those left will be redefined mostly to help train Iraqi forces. But they too must leave by the end of 2011.

“This is going to be a critical period, these next 18 months,” Obama said, referring to the Aug 2010 deadline for the withdrawal of combat troops. “You will be critical in terms of us being able to make sure Iraq is stable, that it is not a safe haven for terrorists, and we can start bringing our folks home,” Obama told troops gathered at Camp Victory, a sprawling U.S. base near the airport.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the top U.S. commander in Iraq, General Ray Odierno, had told Obama that even with the recent spike in bombings, violence was at its lowest level since 2003.

But underscoring the fragile security, U.S. officials ruled out any idea of Obama traveling by motorcade into Baghdad after bad weather forced the cancellation of a planned helicopter trip into the city to meet Iraqi leaders.

Instead, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki went to Camp Victory for talks with Obama.

Obama said he had come to Iraq for face-to-face meetings and to get a better sense of the security situation.

“We spent a lot of time trying to get Afghanistan right (but) there’s still a lot of work to be done here,” he told reporters. The sectarian warfare and insurgency unleashed by the 2003 U.S.-led invasion have receded sharply over the past year, but Iraqi security forces still face huge challenges as they take on policing and military operations from the United States.

Will Pres. Obama apologize for the US liberating the people of Iraq and Kuwait from the monstrous Saddam Hussein?

Will Pres. Obama apologize for the US liberating the people of Iraq and Kuwait from the monstrous Saddam Hussein?

Political commentator Michelle Malkin wrote: The Reuters headline reads “Obama hopes visit to Iraq can help resolve problems.” It appears that Obama thinks his mere presence and aura will help “resolve problems.” Because of reported bad weather, he won’t make it into the IZ (still called the Green Zone by some) to talk with Iraqi leaders. Instead, he’ll be at Camp Victory making phone calls and meeting with Iraqi PM al Maliki. Later, according to ABC News, he’ll participate in a ceremony awarding 10 Medals of Valor.

Let’s hope he refrains from telling the troops they’re fighting in a “dumb war.”

From Gateway Pundit:

Army officers had intended to have at least 1,500 troops from Camp Victory and nearby Camp Liberty, but the secret trip happened faster than expected, beating most of the troops by a couple of hours. Only about 600 made it to his dog and pony show.
They weren’t so lucky.

From blog commenter sonofdy on the Obama photo with troops:

How do you tell if its a hand picked group? Look at the unit patchs on the militarys uniforms, all different. This was setup to include only military people who supported el bozo in the first place.

SUCKERS!!!

Lets hope we can bring nimwit bush back, since he did such an amazing job…Give me a f^&*ing break….lol!

Bush kept us safe, and Obama and the MSM still can’t resist bashing him. “Bush’s War” was approved of by Congress, and as a US troop supporter with many friends who have fought in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan (and a few who have sadly died for their country), know that Bush’s efforts kept terrorists acts off our soil following 9/11.

Yeah, Ron, Bush DID do an amazing job… I shudder to think what will happen if we are attacked again under Obama’s watch? Will he apologize to the perpetrators? Say we need to have the UN issue a statement? I’m not confident about Obama’s allegiance to our country and its citizens. I pray to God that I’m wrong, but I honestly am not alone in doubting his agenda. It doesn’t feel America is his primary concern.

Will he say, if we’re attacked on US soil, that WE brought it upon ourselves because the world hates us and we’re arrogant? Our president is suppose to represent WE THE PEOPLE, not nations that dislike us. We elected him, we didn’t appoint him to royalty, and he isn’t the President of the World. I’m sick and tired of him continually campaigning, caring more about what France and Turkey and China thinks of him than what we think of him. He’s being sized up, and the outlook is not good.

I hope I’m wrong. Bush is looking better every day.

I swear, Obama and Biden have got to be the stupidist, STUPIDIST President and Vice President in American History. They are so rediculous only they believe their pathological lying.
Two jerk-offs, better spent in the toilet bowl

  4. JOE says:

I mean’t to say Ridiculous, but the very thought of those two numbnuts makes me so angry , that I can’t spell straight.Any liberals out there who truly believe in these two imbeciles are really losers………..

GOD BLESS AMERICA, NOT EUROPE OR THE MIDEAST OR FKN AFRICA

Cassie says “Bush kept us safe”.

I totally agree. Bush kept us safe with only a few minor exceptions:

    1. The greatest terrorist attack ever on US soil
    2. A mismanaged disaster response resulting the death of 2500 Americans
    3. A financial disaster that wiped out half of our retirement accounts
    4. Bin Laden, his sidekick, and the head of Taliban still at large
    5. Iran and NK on verge of developing nukes against us

    I feel soooooooooooo safe!!!

“A mismanaged disaster response resulting the death of 2500 Americans”
Is this referencing the Hurricane Katrina disaster? If so, blame the officials in Louisiana, since law requires that State govt, not Federal govt, intervention take care of it. Not Bush’s fault, David. Blame the governor and local electeds for that. Also, blame the people who chose to stay behind. They were warned well in advance to vacate and didn’t. I’m sorry for what happened there, but a lot of it was Mother Nature and people being stubborn or stupid. Bush didn’t cause the hurricane.

“A financial disaster that wiped out half of our retirement accounts”
Is this referencing the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac disaster that Pres. Bush tried several times to pass legislation to regulate, but Democrats (mainly Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi) shot down every time, saying there was no need to regulate? Or the mandate of lending to low-income minorities for housing that Pres. Clinton endorsed and approved?

“The greatest terrorist attack ever on US soil”
Again, is this referencing the 9/11 attack that, had Pres. Clinton acted on (with reliable intel) against Bin Laden years earlier, may never have occurred?

“Iran and NK on verge of developing nukes against us”
I really don’t have any facts on this one, and if indeed Bush is to blame for these two countries being able to develop nuclear weapons, I will be just as angry as you. But I get angry over FACTS, and you’ve presented next to none. Bush made mistakes, yes, I have been a loud voice against him approving the TARP deal and other bailouts in his last months of office. But Dems in Congress wrote the bills and told him he had to approve them to prevent a national meltdown.

So, I wish Bush had shown more spine, but didn’t. I wish he had not been so weak on illegal immigration. But I never felt Bush betrayed our country like Obama did this past week in Europe and Turkey. I feel Bush did his best for America, and Obama is going out of his way to weaken us in the eyes of our enemies. Bush was proud of our country, was a patriot, and loved Americans. I do not feel that way about Obama. Look at how he reacted to the North Korean missile launch. Look at how he bowed to the Saudi king. Look at how he ignores the advice of economists about his bankrupting of America with his outrageous budget. Look at how he undermines our country in the press. Look at how he ignores the Constitution, which is the primary role he has as president. Look at how he keeps his college records and birth records sealed from the public. Look at how he is undoing the free market.

I don’t trust him, and if we were attacked again, God forbid, I don’t believe he would act as Bush did to try to find the perpetrators and strive to prevent it from happening again. He’d probably say it was our fault we were attacked. Or ask the UN to look into it.

  8. MIB says:

Obama is doing a lot of damage to this country on his tour. He’s showing his true colors and socialist agenda. Not the “hope and change” I thought he meant, that’s for sure.
