Tax Protest Tea Parties: Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

UPDATE, April 21, 2009: Tea parties started it, but letting our government know our dissatisfaction can be accomplished in a number of ways. It’s not just about protesting in the streets on tax day. It’s about demanding accountability from your government at all levels — and getting it. Here’s an inspirational piece of news: In Woonsocket, RI, Tea Party activists took action and through their efforts, stopped massive new supplemental tax hikes to bail out the public school district at their City Council.

Our voices are being heard. Let freedom ring!

Most left-wing TV news sources have not been reporting the hundreds of tax protest tea parties across the nation. If they do report one event, they usually marginalize it, scoff at it, or otherwise brush it aside as “harmless right-wing nut-job nonsense.”

I originally thought most tea parties weren’t reported on the evening news because the reporters who work at these liberal news stations are still angry at Pres. G.W. Bush for everything that goes wrong in their “gotta be miserable because of global warming,” liberal world. Or, that they blindly support all porkulus spending and government waste because “we’re patriotic just like Joe Biden, dammit, and we LIKE paying higher taxes.” Or, because if Obama says it must be, well then, IT MUST BE.

No, the absence of reporting by some stations apparently comes down to fear. Deep-seated fear, unfettered fear, fear surpassing the fears reporters over the decades have experienced in war zones, in any overseas riot, rampage, holocaust, mob attack, or terrorist uprising.

What monsters are these reporters so afraid of, what demons could deter the spirit of journalistic integrity of reporting that which is timely and newsworthy to its loyal viewers?

It’s fear of those conservative tea party attendees. (Temperature in room drops 15 degrees). “We didn’t feel comfortable…”

Good grief. They’ve no problem going on-site and reporting on the protests or rallys spearheaded by ACORN and the Alliance for Climate Protection and Code Pink because liberals are never unruly or confrontational, right? Methinks the “gentle” media doth protest too much…

You’ve got to see the video; eye-rolling is allowed:

Aw, geez, the left “feels left out”… and so, they want to crash the tea parties so as to marginalize attendees and cause some good-natured mayhem (Huffington Post is advertising for writers and photographers to attend and supply info from events across the country… no payment for this, I’m sure).

From Rush Limbaugh this week: “For those of you going to the tea parties on tax day, you’ve heard about the efforts, the rumored efforts of ACORN and other community organizer efforts to infiltrate, trying to be and appear as one of you but then cause problems, create violence, great shows for the Drive-By Media cameras so that the tea party protests can be portrayed as a bunch of fringe kook violent wackos. In addition to that — this is from ThePolitico.com — in addition to that, various ACORN groups, like America United for Change, are going to “hold dozens of events outside local post offices in at least 30 states to highlight President Obama’s plan to help restore fairness to the tax code.” In fact, ACORN, on the same day you’re out there at the tea parties, ACORN and other groups, unions and so forth, are going to be calling for tax increases in 30 states. One of the taxes that they’re going to zero in on is what they call the outrageous loophole that allows offshore corporate tax havens, as called for within the president’s budget. Hey, don’t worry about those. They’re going away. The world regulator from the G20 is going to see to it that that takes place.”
