He Doesn’t Get It: Axelrod Joins ‘Tea Party Bashing’ Bandwagon

The gift that keeps on giving… more tea party bashing. This time, it’s from Senior White House adviser David Axelrod on Face the Nation. He thinks dissension is a mutation. After all, the president “just cut taxes for 95 percent of the people.” So why are people still upset?
David, are you friggin’ kidding me? Most of that will go to people who don’t pay any taxes… they’re not tax cuts, David… it’s WELFARE.
David Axelrod Calls Tea Party Protests “Unhealthy”
Snippet from The Other McCain:
What you, David Axelrod, don’t understand is that those of us who support a growth-oriented economic policy aren’t in favor of tax cuts on a “more-money-for-me” basis. It’s not about who gets what, it’s about increasing prosperity by expanding liberty. But Democrats are so narrow-minded that they don’t even grasp the concept.
You just don’t get it, David.
The Americans who attended the nationwide tea parties are not ignorant, are not racists, are not un-American. We aren’t “unhealthy” nor are our heartfelt protests.
We are protesting the far-left direction Washington is taking, not just with the increased taxes, but increased spending, outrageous spending and government waste that will cripple our nation. We are protesting the trampling upon and dismantling of our beloved Constitution that has been zooming at near light speed since January 20. We are protesting the blind eyes and deaf ears of our elected officials, including the president, who is continuing his “Magical Mystery Apology Tour,” selling his nation’s people short and embracing ruthless dictators who mock human rights and seek world domination.
We are protesting the slow death of America with socialist programs and faulty ideologies being slammed through by POTUS and his minions.
We are greatly concerned that our First Amendment rights will be stifled with various mandates and programs in the media and on the Internet, all meant to shut down voices of government criticism (but these will carefully avoid referencing the “Fairness Doctrine”).
The list of grievances covered at the tea parties is lengthy, but it boils down to this: we want Washington to LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE and rather than kill capitalism and the free market, halt the crippling of our great nation with poorly conceived inordinate taxes and regulations to fund unsustainable welfare and bailout programs. We don’t want a “nanny” state.
We want America to remain “America.”
Or, David, are you one of the few who thinks that deplorable Janeane Garofalo with her insane view of conservatives would fit in the Obama administration just peachy-keen?

The Tea Parties demostrated our disagreement against the congress filled with \professional politicains.\ Our founders would be shocked to see we created a new power class and sent them to DC to rule over us. When the congress was created it was comprised of ordinary citizens chosen to serve for a short time, then return to their job back home. Citizen-representatives in the People’s House have been doctors, farmers, merchants, teachers, clergymen, tradesmen and, yes, even lawyers. Being a congressman was not supposed to be a lifetime appointment.
Power corrupts. When congress has the power to legislate more and more taxes from us, when congress can form the IRS into an entity powerful enough to control us, we, as a nation, are in trouble. When congress can pass laws to take over private business and industry, our free enterprise is seriously threatened.
How can We The People ensure that the representatives we send to DC don’t get corrupted. Term Limits! When people stay in the Washington DC environment for too long they will eventually succumb to the temptations of money that’s offered to buy their vote and/or influence. Think about lobbyists, special interest groups, campaign contributors. They all throw money at members of congress. Yet we keep sending the same people back there. Washington DC has become a vast cesspool of corruption. Power and money are addictive and insidious.
But every two years we return 90% of the congressmen back there. It doesn’t matter anymore if they have a \D\ or \R\ after their names. Pork barrel spending and earmarks are rampant in both parties. If we want to clean up The People’s House we need to have the courage to throw out ALL the incumbents. Problem is, many people will say, \Maybe your congressman, but not mine. He’s a good guy. I like him.\ Likeability has nothing to do with it. Length of time in DC does. Take some time & look up how long your guy or gal has been in Washington. Than pray for the courage to vote out the professional politician in favor of a new person. If we all did that and charged all the new people with the responsibility to clean up The People’s House, maybe we could finally make some headway in getting the corruption out of DC.
Thanks for this post. Your writing is always timely for topics in the news.
So, is this new tax intended to close a consumer loophole, stop what some see as an evil addiction, punish those who try to save money, or is it an an attempt to fleece the American people once againWell, Congress is remiss to close loopholes on themselves, so that can’t be the reason. Online shopping… well, I don’t think that qualifies as an addiction. The idea of punishing cost conscious consumers is contrary to the Obama plan…you know, spending money to help the economy, so that can’t be it. That leaves just one thing… government hands in our pockets once again.
When will enough, be enough? With the current crop of thieves in office, it will never be enough. Their time seems to spent trying to find innovative ways to tax us, or in finding ways for themselves to avoid paying taxes, while at the same time ensuring they stay in power. How difficult would it be to throw a monkey wrench in to their plans? If this bill is passed, and signed by Obama, we’ll need to stop buying online. My appologies to the online merchants, but you better make plans to find another source of income. Perhaps, a barter system? Some tell me the left has used this system for quite some time, and is regarded as “the underground economy.”
When will America wake up, and take this country back from the power brokers who want to control everything we do, think, make, and earn?
Just look at how much they jack up prices here:
