Henrietta Hughes May Lose Free Home, Will Obama Get Her Another?

We all remember her. Back in February, Henrietta Hughes became a minor celebrity when she cried to Pres. Barack Obama at a Fort Meyers, Florida townhall meeting on February 10 that she needed a home. She and her son were living out of her car and she wanted a place to call her own, to cook her own food. She got it.
And now, a few months later, it looks like she’s going to lose it.
The home she lives in was donated by the wife of a Florida lawmaker, Chene Thompson, who has been trying to sell the vacant home in the Fort Myers suburb of Lavelle since 2006. Once the house sells, Hughes will have to leave.
