Gun Control and Other Liberal Hogwash, through ’60 Minutes’ Eyes

It’s always a treat reading the posts on Andrew Breitbart’s Big Hollywood. What’s not to love, unless, of course, you’re a liberal?
It never disappoints and usually tickles my brain or my funny bone, or both. Sometimes, it just makes me want to donate a few bucks to a “Help Liberals Get Over Themselves” fund.

'60 Minutes,' heavy on the liberal cliche', light on the objectivity about gun control and the Second Amendment
For grins, Jena counted all the liberal clichés in the program. He even took several amusing swipes at CBS Poo-Bah Andy Rooney (…some old guy who reminded me of Andy Rooney, but I am pretty sure Andy Rooney died in 1984…).
Here’s a bit of Jena’s droll commentary: ‘60 Minutes’: Let Me Count the Liberal Clichés:
“I wasn’t disappointed. First up, a piece about a Pentagon program for advanced prosthetics with only one mention of the Pentagon and no mention of Obama military cuts that will endanger this program. Second “news” story, a liberal standard: EVIL GUNS! Leslie Stahl and CBS just can’t seem to figure out why anybody would want to protect themselves with a weapon. In their world, if you outlaw guns then criminals will be forced to rob the local convenience store with a rock or a knife. You see, you silly, silly Second Amendment nut jobs, if we just had stricter laws then criminals would obey them! Then Leslie interviews some college guy who admitted on national TV that he committed a gun felony by conspiring to buy a handgun without proper identification. Of course, he was breaking the law to show how easy it was to break the law! I wonder if any law enforcement agency will track down this gun felon. Here is my question: was CBS news complicit in this man’s crime? Did they encourage him to go into the gun show and buy a gun illegally? Did they give him the money? “I am sure CBS would never do anything like that!” He said, as the sarcasm dripped into the paragraph below.”
Read Jena’s whole piece… you won’t be disappointed.

Listening to late night radio I ran across a show that had a guest that said that there is a bill in congress to ban the re-loading of ammo because of the fact that there are regulations against private citizens involving themselves with explosives. You need a license to deal with explosives.
A primer cap is technically an explosive.
So…here we go.
If they can’t confront the 2nd Amendment head on, they’ll nibble at the roots.
Don’t know if this is true, but it would be worth pursuing, just to get the facts out there.
This may be one of these late night Friday votes behind closed doors.
I have looked on the net but can’t find anything, yet.
AFVET: I know I’ve read the rumblings on this, and like you, don’t really know if it will be implemented. But it’s a noteworthy thing to be aware of. My dad is an avid shooter, and he’s been reloading his own ammo since he was a kid. My teenage son visited Grandpa a few weeks ago… let’s just say, my son reported back to me that Grandpa is VERY prepared right now.
I think the ammo “ban” or whatever it will become just hasn’t yet been presented. Feelers have been sent out, but hey, it’s only Tuesday. Obama’s agenda has been slowed down a bit with that NYC flyover embarrassment.
You’re right on the money with your “nibbling on the roots.”
admin…a gun with no bullets is just a club.
I’m watching this as closely as I can.
The audacity of these people against the TRUE AMERICANS !?!?!
100 days and counting.
Amen to that, brother. We’re ALL watching these weasels… problem is, how many things can any one of us watch at any given time? This administration is on steroids to rip up the Constitution as fast as possible before Americans are on to them.
Bush is looking like a benevolent country gentleman about now.
I see my punctuation was modified.
Hope I didn’t get me in trouble.
Old habit… former English teacher. I usually can slap my hands away and leave posts alone “as is,” but if I think it’s important to fix, I sometimes give in to the impulse.
LOL
I don’t think I modified this post of yours, though. It may be the filter I have running. I’ll check into it.
admin… feel free to adjust my punctuation any time you want.
GREAT SITE !!!
Muchas gracias, AFVET.
