Yes, you read the title correctly.

In the midst of all the about-to-go-belly-up-any-minute financial turmoil the state of California is going through, the billion-dollar deficits the state has been running for who knows how long, the painful cutbacks and layoffs thousands of residents have gone through to help their companies stay shakily afloat, there are actually 168 teachers in the Los Angeles area who are being paid to DO NOTHING. One has been paid more than 2 million dollars over several years. Good grief…

Take this job and LOVE it… Johnny Paycheck would be so proud. Any unemployed teachers out there who would take a position in Los Angeles to replace these sloths and actually do some WORK for your paycheck? Wow, lots of hands shot up, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

On a similar note, and also posted on Malkin’s blog, Washington, DC parents are mad as holy heck and are not letting the successful “school choice” education voucher program go quietly into the night under Obama’s wackadoodle budget scissors. It’s one of the cheaper programs for families and it may be the only government-funded education program in the country that can prove with non-biased quantifiable results that it is working. And, for some inexplicable reason, it’s one of the only programs that Obama has decided to cut, ignoring that it is accomplishing what it set out to do:
