Damage-Control ‘Obama Food in the News’ Week: ‘Obama Date Time’ & ‘Joey & Barry Go Out for Burgers’

We’ve seen more “Obama eats like a regular person” news features this week than usual. My theory is that this is a page ripped from the Democrat Damage Control playbook… “Damage Control 101 – The Food Angle Chapter,” which has followed the uproar caused by the outrageous misuse of taxpayers’ dollars with last week’s NYC Air Force One flyover that caused New Yorkers to run for their lives. Deflect attention and criticism by showing POTUS EATING!
Now that military director Louis Caldera has taken a bullet for the team and resigned (thanks, Louie!), Obama can get comfy once again and get back to business with ruining and then blaming Bush for America’s plunging economy.
Problem-o solved.
Possible White House Public Relations Memo: Show Obama is not the unfeeling, elitist, spendthrift lout America is starting to think he is after the AFO incident… show how much he and wife Michelle are just like average Americans.
So, it’s DATE TIME! Rev up the limos, put on the high heels, run the red lights, ‘cuz baby, we’re goin’ out on the town!
Or, as the maitre’d at Citronelle exclaimed, “To me, they looked like teenagers!”
Say what? This guy has got to be kidding. Teenagers? Two 40-plus-year-olds with two kids look like teenagers? Obviously, this guy has never watched Gossip Girl, and even most of the lead actors on that show are long past their teen years. Maybe he’s going blind.

Good grief, this is NEWS?
CNN, this is precisely why you rank dead last most of the time and FOX News is Number 1 most of the time among the top five news stations. Because FOX actually offers a balance of news, not sycophant cutesy-crap like this. And no more Bo the First Dog info. We really don’t care.
Martinis for both, short ribs for him, and lobster burger for her… a typical 100-dollars-per-person meal. Yes, Mr. President, families across America, struggling to keep their cars from being repossessed and eating macaroni and cheese with hot dogs in order to keep the family food budget down really can identify with Michelle’s ridiculous lobster burger. And a $200 food bill for one meal, heck, we don’t care if that is all we can afford for the entire month. That mood wall at Citronelle was exceptionally cool, so hey—it was worth it.

If “Barry and Michelle Go on a Date” isn’t enough to make you suspicious about Air Force One damage control, we also have the weird lunch date of Obama and Biden in Arlington, Virginia. What in the heck is going on with Obama and “common folk” food this week?

“Just Regular Guys out for Lunch” Food Summary:
Biden’s order: Swiss cheese burger with jalapeño peppers, ketchup, root beer
Obama’s order: Basic cheddar cheese burger with Dijon mustard, lettuce, tomato, side of fancy cheddar cheese fries
“You guys are cheap dates…” WOW… Obama pays for the burgers with his own modest wad of cash. And almost ruins the “regular guy getting a burger” reality show with his request for Dijon mustard. Oops. Most “regular guys” don’t order that, Mr. President. Next time the cameras are rolling, ask for just mustard.
OK, call me cynical: To prove how much of a “regular guy” Obama is, from about the 1:32 mark to 1:56, we see him in the process of paying for the burger bill. Cash in hand. Wow, the president carries MONEY! Quick video cut to the kitchen, then again at about 2:02 to 2:10, bill payment and tip leaving. Geez, that’s 32 seconds total, and the entire video clip is 2 minutes, 41 seconds. Do the math: nearly 20 percent of the “Joey and Barry Go Out for Burgers Show” is devoted to the payment of the dang bill. In cash. By the president.
This is news?
Who thought this “slumming at lunchtime” was a good idea? Whoever at MSNBC or the White House did think so told the camera man, “You be sure to linger as long as possible on POTUS paying the burger tab. Show he’s a REGULAR guy who pays his bills.” Get me an antacid, please.
I’m so glad this weird week’s about over… only 48 hours ’til it begins all again.
Happy Mother’s Day and a big “hoop-di-doo” to Nancy Pelosi… we hope her memory-loss about all those CIA briefings on interrogation methods improve. I understand that eating foods like salmon that are high in omega-3’s can improve memory. CNN could do a major puff piece, another “Damage Control 101″ story, on Pelosi shoving fish down her throat.
Which would be a vast improvement over what she’s been shoving down OUR throats for ages.
