High & Low Roads: Rush Ignores Wanda Sykes’ Hate, Meghan McCain a Spoiled Brat at WH Dinner, Donald Trump Supports Miss California Carrie Prejean

Rush Limbaugh has ignored Wanda Sykes’ despicable, gutless comedy routine at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and I’m impressed with him taking the high road. Mainstream media gossip mongers have been waiting longingly for his rejoinder.
No bites at the bait, you jackals. What was Rush suppose to say if he HAD responded to Sykes’ hateful jokes? “It bothers me, Wanda, that you wished me a painful death and the President of the United States laughed his butt off?”
Not gonna happen. Stupid for the MSM to expect him to respond to such garbage.
During Rush’s show Monday — his first since Saturday night’s White House dinner — Limbaugh alluded to the dinner just once, calling it “showbiz for ugly people, that’s what politics is.”
However, countless conservative and moderate bloggers didn’t ignore Sykes and her trash talk, nor have radio talk show hosts, like Sean Hannity, who has voiced his outrage over the hypocritical double standard displayed by the president and the White House. If Wanda had attacked a liberal, there would be all hell to pay. Hannity thought it was cowardly and disgusting that it is funny for Sykes to malign Gov. Sarah Palin with a falsehood and who wasn’t there, and Rush Limbaugh, who also wasn’t there. The gentle roasting characteristics at these dinners, where the president is usually the focus of most of the ribbing and critical jokes, were absent. Sykes’ shtick was a blatant partisan attack on Republicans and soured the evening for many. Others at the dinner (translation: liberal Democrats) thought Sykes was uproariously funny… if the same level of vitriol had been flung instead at Hillary Clinton or Jill or Joe Biden or Michelle Obama or Nancy Pelosi or any other Democrat, I don’t think they’d be so amused. Teasing is one thing, venomous attacking is another.
Negative press has followed, and the White House is now distancing themselves from Sykes, particularly her remarks about 9/11 and Rush being one of the terrorists who masterminded the attack. However, there is video footage showing Barack Obama laughing at Sykes’ jokes about Limbaugh dying of kidney failure.

Yes, Rush not acknowledging this vile woman was a classy choice. The high road.
Now, the low road:
Sen. John McCain’s precious little monster darling, Meghan, who isn’t sure which political side she’s on from one week to the next, made a big, embarrassing stink at the White House dinner. She had two tickets for the dinner, but brought two friends. Not enough tickets, sigh. Did it end there? Of course not. Meghan loves the sound of her own voice, especially if she can let loose with an expletive or two. Here’s the full story on her childish prima donna episode:
NY Daily News: Meghan McCain a real pain at D.C. dinner
Meghan later took issue with a crack that Sykes made about her mother, Cindy McCain, but didn’t have a problem with those lodged against her dad. Nor against anyone else. Whatever. Although defending her mom is a good thing.

Another high road:

Miss California Carrie Prejean, Christian beauty queen vilified by gay blogger and not supported by pageant officials for her honest answer about gay marriage
Trump has discarded the angry, crappy accusations that Prejean is a racist, a gay basher, a Nazi, and all the other vile things this young woman has been called because of her respectful opinion. And he’s examined the racy photos of her on the Internet and decided they are a bit racy, but acceptable. And not nearly as racy as another Miss USA beauty queen contestant’s were, and those photos were published in the men’s magazine Maxim.
Regarding Prejean’s honest response that she believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman, from Politico:
“It’s the same answer that the president of the United States gave,” Trump said. “She gave an honorable answer. She gave an answer from her heart.”
On her scantily-clothed photographs, and further explanation of Trump’s decision on her same-sex marriage response, excerpted from WCBSTV:
“We’ve reviewed the pictures carefully,” Trump said at a packed news conference at Trump Plaza in New York City. “We’ve made a determination that the pictures taken were acceptable. Some were risque, but we are in the 21st century.”
Interestingly, Trump said Carrie Prejean’s comments about same-sex marriage were blown out of proportion – not because of the grand stage where her comments were made – but because of her beauty. He blamed the media for making a big deal out of the situation.
“If she were a very nice looking young woman, if she were an average woman, if she were an average man, if she were a great looking man, it wouldn’t have mattered, nobody would have cared because this subject has been discussed by everybody from politicians, presidents, everybody. If Carrie weren’t so beautiful, this would never have come,” said Trump. “Carrie is totally beautiful, and her answer, because of that, took on greater importance. Unfortunately, that’s the way the press works. You should be ashamed of yourselves.”

Carrie Prejean, Miss California 2009
To Donald Trump… good call on this issue and thanks for finally putting this to rest. And thanks for taking the high road on supporting Carrie Prejean.
