Ann Coulter, in Defense of Christian Beauty Queen Carrie Prejean: ‘Liberals Are Ferocious Misogynists’

Ann Coulter is controversial and despised in a number of circles, but respected for her tenacity and honesty by millions of conservatives.

She’s a wicked-smart lawyer and bestselling author of a number of thought-provoking anti-statist books. Liberals across the globe love to hate her. Too attractive? Too smart? Too aggressive? Too mean? All of the above?

So, now, this attractive, smart, aggressive, blonde attorney turned political commentator, born in NYC and raised in New Canaan, Connecticut, who doesn’t take any guff from left-wingers, could have kept quiet until the “Get Carrie!” dust had settled… Lord knows many other conservatives have.

But instead, Coulter has stood up for Christian beauty queen Miss California, Carrie Prejean. Prejean, if you recall, answered a question during the Miss USA pageant last month about whether or not she felt that the other 46 states in the US should legalize same-sex marriage. Oops. She said politely, no, she did not think so. She believes marriage is meant to be between a man and a woman.

“How dare you be honest and exercise your First Amendment rights, you hateful, gay-bashing, racist, Nazi piece of garbage,” or so the liberal Hollywood pundits and gossip rags raged for weeks, led by their deranged, foul-mouthed gay cheerleader Perez Hilton (with more profanities than can be included here). And then the liberal flurry for “gettin’ the dirt” uncovered semi-nude pictures of Prejean. Or manufactured them with photo software wizardry… take your pick.

Good for you standing up for her, Ann, good for you. None of the hypocritical “beautiful people” in Tinseltown would come to her defense and instead, pulled out their pitchforks and demanded her crown and her dignity. The same left-wing entertainers who stand by Perez Hilton’s right to call Prejean filthy names are now “horrified” by photos less racy than many Vogue ads for fragrance and blue jeans. Except actress Angie Harmon… brave woman, Angie, defying the frothing Hollywood mob. And conservative Gov. Sarah Palin, who knows a thing or two about dodging those scary liberal pitchforks, also has rallied to Prejean’s defense: Washington Post: Palin on Prejean.

Amusing how left-wing extremists now are calling Palin a “hypocrite” for demonstrating her Christian principles in defending Prejean’s freedom of speech and belief in God… guess those PG-rated photos really have upset them more deeply than the ripping away of an American citizen’s Constitutional rights. Sexy photos trump all, eh? Were you all born in the days of Mary Pickford and the Model T? Have you ever been to a public beach in this century? Geez… where’s the smelling salts for these faint-hearted, swooning liberals? Hypocrites.

While we’re on Sarah Palin, Alexander Marlow at Big Hollywood notes in a recent article, “Anyone modestly attentive to American culture will notice the conspicuous absence of the flyest honey ever to rep the GOP on the national stage: Sarah Palin.” He’s written a terrific piece, People Magazine’s Pathetic Predictability about People Magazine’s “100 Most Beautiful” edition not including Palin. But hey, Tim “I’m a Tax Cheat” Geithner IS included! No hypocrisy there, right?

Several excerpts from Ann Coulter’s article, “Liberal Taliban issues fatwa against Miss California”:

Not even Dick Cheney can incite the blood-curdling rage of liberals at the sight of a sexy evangelical Christian. Paula Jones, Katherine Harris, Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin and, most recently, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, have all come under a frenzy of attacks from liberals.

Christians are supposed to be fat, balding sweaty little men with bad complexions. It’s liberals who are supposed to be the sexy ones. (I know that from watching ‘The West Wing’ and all movies starring Julia Roberts.)

But sadly for liberals, in real life, the fat, balding sweaty little guy with the bad complexion is Perez Hilton and the smoking-hot babe is Carrie Prejean.

This apparent contradiction incites violent anger in liberals, triggering their famous “flight or flight” response. So liberals are, once again, launching furious attacks on a beautiful Christian in a fit of pique similar to the one directed at Joan of Arc.

First, the Miss USA contest held a press conference to announce that Prejean had breast implants. Take a Christian position in public and Satan’s handmaidens will turn all your secrets into front-page news.

Next, a photographer released a single cheesecake photo of Prejean. This prompted liberal reporters who have never met a Christian to proclaim that Christians were outraged by the photo. Liberals believe abortion is a sacrament, but smoking, wearing short skirts and modeling lingerie are mortal sins. (And if wearing women’s underwear is a basis for being disqualified from the pageant, that’s the end of Perez Hilton’s judging career.)

Then on Monday some genuine “semi-nude” photos were released. These were not what we’d call appropriate for a Christian. In a curiously similar attack, the left’s final attempt to destroy Paula Jones was to lure her into appearing naked in Penthouse magazine. Oh well.

Christians aren’t people who believe they are without sin; they’re people who know they’re sinners and are awestruck by God’s grace in sending his only Son to take the punishment they deserve.

This is in contradistinction to liberals, all of whom believe they’re on a fast track to heaven on the basis of being “basically good” people – and also believe that anyone who disagrees with that theological view is evil.

Finally (so far, anyway), reporters gleefully released the divorce records of Prejean’s parents. Because when you want the truth, what is more reliable than angry accusations traded in the middle of an acrimonious divorce?

From Jean-Paul Sartre, Pablo Picasso and Bertrand Russell, who treated women — mostly their mistresses — like dogs, to Teddy Kennedy and Bill Clinton in our own day, liberals are ferocious misogynists. They share Muslims’ opinion of women, differing only to the extent that liberals also support a women’s right to have an abortion and to perform lap dances.

You’d be better off in a real burqa than under the authority of a liberal American male.

To reiterate Donald Trump’s sensible response to Prejean’s semi-nude photos (some of which were, no surprise here, reported to have been Photoshopped) and his decision to support Prejean’s same-sex marriage response. “It’s the same answer that the president of the United States gave,” Trump said. “She gave an honorable answer. She gave an answer from her heart.”

Here’s what Frugal Café posted yesterday, excerpted from WCBSTV:

“We’ve reviewed the pictures carefully,” Trump said at a packed news conference at Trump Plaza in New York City. “We’ve made a determination that the pictures taken were acceptable. Some were risque, but we are in the 21st century.”

Interestingly, Trump said Carrie Prejean’s comments about same-sex marriage were blown out of proportion – not because of the grand stage where her comments were made – but because of her beauty. He blamed the media for making a big deal out of the situation.

“If she were a very nice looking young woman, if she were an average woman, if she were an average man, if she were a great looking man, it wouldn’t have mattered, nobody would have cared because this subject has been discussed by everybody from politicians, presidents, everybody. If Carrie weren’t so beautiful, this would never have come,” said Trump. “Carrie is totally beautiful, and her answer, because of that, took on greater importance. Unfortunately, that’s the way the press works. You should be ashamed of yourselves.”

Former Playboy model and the co-director of Miss California USA, by the way, was so upset with Trump and his decision to uphold Prejean’s First Amendment rights and the controversial photos, that she resigned, saying she no longer believed in the integrity of the Miss USA organization. DLTDHYOTWO.

Shanna Moakler, co-director of the Miss California USA Organization, stepped down from her position today. The news come one day after Donald Trump and the Miss USA organization decided that Miss California, Carrie Prejean, could keep her crown and remain runner up for the Miss USA title after the release of scandalous pictures and other controversies.

Story behind the story: It seems significant to note that Moakler, in addition to her stint as a Playboy model and Miss California USA co-director, is a former Miss USA winner and the on-again, off-again wife of Blink 182’s drummer Travis Barker. The couple starred together in the short-lived MTV reality series Meet the Barkers, a show about the adorable behind-the-scenes secrets to their marital bliss. The show was canceled, and the couple divorced in 2006. They reconciled in September 2008 after Barker survived a plane crash. The latest split, reported to the media in April 2009, occurred after Barker accused Moakler of having an affair with 300 star Gerard Butler while he was recovering in the hospital, Us Weekly reported. Police were called after a fight broke out between them, according to a source, but no charges were filed.

Moakler’s not-so-chaste background, her unstable relationship with Barker, and her rash decision to quit because of Trump’s stance to support Prejean is either “much ado about nothing” or some other odd “drama queen” response against the Miss USA organization. A flood of long-time anger from Moakler is bubbling over, which makes it seem that there’s much more about her quitting than currently meets the eye.
