Valid, fair questions, Sen. Hatch. I, for one, also want to know what Sonia Sotomayor meant by “fluidity and pliancy” as these modifiers apply to the application of established laws. Orrin Hatch is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and a Republican senator from Utah.

Let’s hope others during the confirmation hearings ask these questions of Judge Sotomayor, too. They demand serious exploration before we commit to one of the most important court positions in the world. However, based on this Hot Air post on the lack of a GOP filibuster, it’s too early to tell:
