Palin has NEVER expressed making abortion illegal (if I’m wrong, please cite the source) and I know of no instance where she has crossed a line in preventing women from getting abortions.

Bernhard is pro-choice, as am I. But that is where our similarities end. I truly respect Palin and millions of others for taking their pro-life stance. Bernhard does not and jumps the shark with these violent ramblings:

You whore in your f–kin’ cheap New Vision cheap-ass plastic glasses and your [sneering voice] hair up. A Tina Fey-Megan Mullally brokedown bulls–t moment.”

Please show me the points of social awareness in that diatribe. These are not the normal urgings from a person who is trying to make an intelligent, salient point for pro-choice. They are hostile vilifications against Sarah Palin because she is a conservative Republican who was chosen to be a political running mate. I believe that Bernhard is not motivated by any rational convictions that by “suggesting rape upon Sarah Palin so that Palin would understand what it would be like to be a 12-year-old girl raped and impregnated…” Bernhard may be trying to whitewash for the media that her “rape wish” was wanting “social awareness.” Baloney.

Based on her body of her work to attack and marginalize Palin betrays her true irrational hate. She instead wants Palin to be raped because rape is one of the most degrading, heinous things to happen to a woman. And throwing in that it would be gang rape perpetrated by blacks means… what? That Bernhard thinks that “just” being raped isn’t enough to fully punish Palin? It must be done violently to Palin, multiple times, by men of color? What kind of social awareness and enlightenment message is THAT? It sounds more like misogyny and racism from Bernhard to me.

Jokes about rape are not funny. Period. Just as jokes about lynching blacks or castrating gays are not funny. They are twisted, hateful mindsets, disguised as gallows humor, but are instead a window into the depravity and bleakness of that person’s soul.

God forbid that any woman who is raped and is a pro-lifer that becomes pregnant must make personal decisions about that pregnancy. Palin faced that very, very difficult choice when she learned that baby Trig would be born with Downs Syndrome. My heart goes to any woman who must make that kind of personal decision. And it is indeed their own decision.

I actually pity Bernhard. What horrible things must have happened to her in her life that now, she encourages rape of a woman she does not know who does not share her beliefs on pro-choice? Anyone who does that should be pitied, because there is no tolerance nor respect for women. And the hate and violence they express for others is an extension of the hate, the self-loathing, they have for themselves.

So I don’t agree with you. But that is the beauty of our First Amendment. Bernhard, on the other hand, is abusing her First Amendment rights because she is advocating violence and attempting to incite violence. The First Amendment does not embrace that.

I do have to somewhat defend Sandra Bernhard though. She was making a pretty good point when she said what she said about Sarah Palin. She was suggesting rape upon Sarah Palin so that Palin would understand what it would be like to be a 12-year-old girl raped and impregnated and forced to bear the rapists demon spawn under Palin’s extreme anti-abortion stance. You can’t be pro-child if you are willing to ruin one child’s life just to bring a potential demon-child into the world.

And I agree with you, Josh. The way women are treated in the Middle East and other areas in the world is abominable. Here in the US, we’re suppose to be enlightened, but then women-hating garbage like this shows how many of us are not. I’m dumbfounded that liberal sites are STILL trying to justify their disgusting stance on the humor of conservative women being power-raped, but more and more folks are fighting back. Democrats and Republicans and Libertarians… it’s promising to see all thinking people, regardless of party affiliation, denouncing the “pond scum” who think rape is funny. Over at Daily Kos, believe it or not, there is an article wanting Michelle Malkin to be killed. I won’t link to it, but I was really tempted to, if only so that readers here could go to the site to denounce such an evil, left-wing extremist radical writer.
