February Was a Picnic Compared to How Things Are Now: Mark Levin, ‘Liberty and Tyranny,’ & Obama’s Socialism

Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on June 4, 2009

Mark Levin’s brilliant book, Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, has been at the top of the New York Times bestsellers list since it debuted in March. The week Elizabeth Edwards’ book was released, Levin’s book dropped to Number 2, but the following week, Edwards’ fell to Number 5 and Levin’s jumped back again to the Number 1 slot. Top spot for nine out of ten weeks. As of this writing today, it is still Number 1 for hardcover nonfiction at NYT, and is approaching 1 million copies sold.

This has all been accomplished with NO support from the major news sources (print or on television), no cutesy or snooty book reviews, no showcase on Oprah or Ellen, nor any schlepping during any Letterman or O’Brien late night interviews (schlepping nada, interviews nada). Liberty and Tyranny has been primarily advertised through radio ads, radio talk shows, and conservative word-of-mouth forums and blogs, like here at Frugal Café American Spectator, Riehl World View, and Michelle Malkin. A huge percentage of the book’s success has been accomplished through simple, cheap, conservative grassroots efforts. The book has also been a runaway success because—have I already said this?—it’s BRILLIANT.

Levin’s revolutionary book is a masterstroke, thoroughly explaining conservative values and the principles upon which our nation was created. The motivations of statists are exposed and Levin arms readers with valuable information to fight back to keep or restore our nation’s Constitutional roots.

If you’ve not yet read the book, I implore you to. In it, Levin eloquently and intelligently argues for a return to “the Founders’ idea of the dignity of the individual, who can flourish through ordered liberty.”

So, because of the continued success of Levin’s book, I am surprised that there are still so many conservatives who don’t know who Mark Levin is. They all know who Rush Limbaugh is (because liberals attack him all the time in the media), but Levin (fondly called “The Great One” by Sean Hannity) has escaped their detection.

Crazy world… I’m confident that many of these conservatives would enjoy listening to Levin, but they can’t. They’re working too hard, are too busy working longer hours or holding down two jobs to keep their families above water during this sham of the “Golden Age of Obama.” But they don’t have the luxury of listening to talk radio during the day. So, to spread the knowledge, a segment from one of Levin’s radio show is embedded below. An Obama-supporting liberal caller who works for the government is the centerpiece of the segment.

Bear in mind this next video is of a radio program that was broadcast in February. Compared to now in June, February was a picnic.

The caller, a government employee in the Department of Energy, believes that Obama’s socialist plan will soon turn the country around and the “disaster” of the greedy free market will soon be behind us. Prosperity is coming soon for all.

Nope, it hasn’t. It’s now four months later, June 4, 2009.

Where is the turnaround? Where is the economic improvement? Where is the government transparency and promised tax cuts? Where is the hope and change? Things are much worse now… free speech is threatened, taxes and government meddling and unemployment are growing, just as millions of conservatives feared. The warnings of Levin, Limbaugh, Hannity, and others are proving prophetic.

Bush is long gone and cannot be blamed anymore. This is all Obama’s doing.

Enjoy the radio segment… Levin pulls no punches and has no tolerance for statist morons.
