Sen. Barbara Boxer meets Dr. Evil
In case you missed the original story… at an EPW hearing on June 16, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) testily scolded Brigadier General Michael Walsh. He was testifying on Capitol Hill in front of Sen. Boxer, who chairs the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. As he began to respond to one of Boxer’s questions by calling her “ma’am,” she interrupted:
“Do me a favor, could you say ‘Senator’ instead of ‘ma’am?’ It’s just a thing — I worked so hard to get that title, so I’d appreciate it, yes, thank you.”
That evening, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) humorously lampooned Sen. Boxer while he was a guest on Sean Hannity’s show on the FOX News Channel. “Thank you for calling me ‘Senator’ and not ‘sir,” McCain said with a mischievous grin. Hannity chuckled, and returned, “If I called you ‘Ma’am,’ I’d really be in trouble. But we’ll get into that later in the program. You know what: You’re as big a trouble maker as I am, by the way – for the record.” So, other senators are starting to mock her.
You’re a pathetic elitist, Barbara. Dressing down anyone in our military, anyone who has willingly put his or her life on the line for you should be honored and respected, not dissed in public like this. Especially on something so trivial. And childish. And rude.
For the record, it is my understanding that Brig. Gen. Walsh addressed the male senators at the hearing as “sir.” Not one male demanded that they instead be addressed as “Senator.” According to proper protocol, either method of address is deemed acceptable and proper: Sir, Ma’am, or Senator.
So, Barbara was getting snarky snitty-snotty all on her own because a respected military official, who was showing her the utmost courtesy, called her “Ma’am.” ‘Cuz, after all, she “worked so hard for that title.” Worked hard? Like the Brigadier General is some kind of lazy bag-o-bones lackey who hasn’t worked hard? Pitiful power trip, Barbara.

Hilarious! This is an example of behavior that should NOT be ignored or let go without intense scrutiny. What made Boxer say such a stupid thing? What is the defense? I am at a loss as to why ANYONE would try to dress down a Brig. Gen. ESPECIALLY with a bitchy attitude and the phrase “I worked so hard for this title…”
He worked hard, Babs. You are a liberal hack puppet with no legacy or impact on our great country. In fact, we’ll be much better when you are, kicking and screaming no doubt, removed from your seat and sent back to Brooklyn. Then I can visit!

And, I totally agree with you. She’s a narcissist, and a shameful, pitiable one at that. Our honorable military, particularly a Brig. General, have more than proven themselves/himself as patriots. Too bad Boxer is more impressed with her own elected title than his self-sacrifice for our nation. The people elected her… they can vote her out and toss her to the curb on her Senator tush.

And they’re all from liberal districts, that except their propaganda, and the money that flows into their private interests. California is bankrupt, why re-elect them???

Rice, IMO dressed Boxer down.
