Native Americans Against Obama: “The Hype”

Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on June 24, 2009

“Fads come and go…celebrity support does not make an inexperienced senator into a qualified president.”

I discovered this website, Native Americans Against Obama, while reading the following blog:

Why Mommy is a Republican: Ta’Shon’s Story: A Look at the Government’s Record on Health Care. Be sure to visit the site… the post is a “must read.”

Native American reservations have been forced into socialized medicine/universal health care for decades, run by our government, and it is a disaster. There’s a lamentable saying, “Don’t get sick after June” because the allotted Native American health care money for the year has run out by then. Disgraceful.

A powerful, beautiful video, demanding that President Barack Obama make good on his campaign promises to Native Americans, expressing grave, justified concerns about ObamaCare, and asking Americans to evaluate the frenzied hype that got him elected:

This story about IHS was an AP story and it’s gone. Cannot find it anywhere online! Strange.

GV – I’m not sure which AP story you’re referring to, but perhaps this will help. Here’s one article that I found informative. HHS Sec. Kathleen Sebelius is quoted by AP in it:

That is the link where I found the original story but the link is no longer valid to the AP story.

You’re right, the article it links to is no longer there.

I looked closely at the original url and it is from mid June, although I don’t think AP has an “expiration” on accessibility to news sources like other news sites do. The Hot Air piece was posted just last week.

I’ll see what I can find later today on this, GV. Maybe the url changed (I’m not going down the “government conspiracy path” just yet, although this is indeed quizzical).

          Thanks for the info.

I thought I was going crazy there for a minute. That link was valid on the hotair story just last week.

I googled the author’s name and the link she tweeted on twitter is no longer valid, the Washington Post link is no longer valid, and the Forbes.com link is no longer valid either.

ALL THOSE SITES??? Gads, my imagination is running wild now…

To be honest, this has me extremely concerned as well… another link that was OK for me yesterday, that of the St. Louis townhall meeting about ObamaCare and Kevin Jackson’s critical summary of it on his site The Black Sphere, is also not operational today.

Hey, if my website/blog suddenly “goes down,” maybe it won’t be a coincidence, eh? *grimace*

I’m at work right now, and can’t devote time to researching, but once I’m free, I’ll delve further.

Thanks again for your diligence, GV.

Thank you in advance for checking up on this. I will visit your blog again (my first time here – it’s great!) and see if you’ve found anything. I’ll also visit to make sure it hasn’t been pulled by the man.

                • admin says:

“Pulled by the man” – I’d laugh at that great 1970s expression, except it’s getting too close to the truth of the “Internet police” I’ve been reading about. Laugh or cry these days, right? Orwell’s 1984…

Thank you for your input and for visiting the site. Spread the word to your friends to pop in and visit. I don’t bash the president and congressional Democrats ALL the time… sometimes I actually find the time to write a post about frugal shopping and cooking tips (if BHO would slow down on all his power-grabbing socialist nonsense, I would write more).

                  • GV says:

I know, right? I was giggling about “the man” thing too and the irony of it all!

Here is a link to the story (for now):

Out of curiosity, concerning the appalling state of affairs with Native American socialized health care, do you have some kind of a connection to it, or is your interest purely academic?

None of my business, but I was just wondering.

                    • GV says:

It’s purely academic. When I saw that article on hotair.com, it dawned on me that I had never really thought about how health care was handled on the reservations and I decided to read more about the sorry state of their system, which is administered by the government. I also thought it was a good way to get my point across to my liberal friends w/o relying on the usual conservative talking points (which are valid, but a bit tiresome).
