RUSH: Bob in Auburn, Massachusetts, nice to have you with us here on Open Line Friday on Thursday. Hi.
CALLER: Rush, glad to get to talk to you. Big fan.
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: Big, big fan. You know, I want to run the health care thing by you. I think people are missing the whole point here and maybe you’re not, because I try to listen as much as I can but sometimes I don’t. Obama really doesn’t care about health care at all. He doesn’t care if it costs $10 trillion. It has nothing to do with health care.
All it has to do with is blackmailing Republican voters. And I’ll tell you the reason how he’s going to do this. Once it gets passed, you know the private sector is gonna bounce most of their insurance over to the government plan.
RUSH: Yes, sir.
CALLER: Could be 50, could be a hundred million people. Forty percent of those people are Republicans. Now, you go in and you cast your vote, and if you think you’re going to cast a vote for a Republican when maybe your wife has cancer or somebody in your family has got a big problem? No, as a matter of fact you’re probably not even going to register as a Republican anymore because you’re going to be too afraid to. And don’t be surprised if there’s a landslide for him again in 2012.
RUSH: Wait a minute. I missed a step here. A hundred million Americans go to the government-run health care, 40% of them are Republicans that do that.
CALLER: Right.
RUSH: What does that have to do with the way they’re going to vote?
CALLER: Well, Rush, there’s an advisory council that’s going to vote on your health, okay? And now, if you’re a Republican, and anyone in your family was over a quarter of the –
RUSH: Oh, oh, oh, oh. I missed it. You’re saying that a Democrat government run by Obama deciding who to approve and not to approve in terms of care and what kind of care –
CALLER: Exactly.
RUSH: — will look at party affiliation and say, ah, you go to the back of the line, we gotta take care of –
CALLER: This is what it’s all about, Rush, believe me. He doesn’t care one bit about health care.
RUSH: You could have a point there. They are doing that in other things. Some people tried to establish that that’s how they were closing dealerships. I don’t think anybody closed the loop for sure on this. But the one thing you’re really right about is, it isn’t about health care. That’s just the diving board, if you will, the springboard to get into your heart, it’s not about health care at all. It’s about control; it’s about grabbing two-and-a-half trillion dollars from the private economy and bringing it into government Obama control.
Somebody called here the other day and made a good point. There really isn’t a crisis in health care in this country. The crisis in health care, if you want to say that does exist, is the fear that a major illness or catastrophic could wipe you out. Which isn’t gonna change.
In fact, the odds of you being wiped out by a catastrophe or accident once the government gets started running this stuff is greater than if the private sector does, but day to day, there’s no health care crisis in this country. You can get it. So, it isn’t about health care per se. This is just about gaining control, taking money, and controlling people’s lives, and wiping out Republicans, a nice cherry on top.

RUSH: By the way, folks, I don’t want to minimize our previous caller’s point that an Obama administration running health care could cause fear among Republicans and not getting treated. I have some people — I don’t know any of these people — but I have some friends who know Republicans who vote for Democrats because of the stem cell issue. But their kids are sick and they think the Democrats are the ones that care about it. So if you’re Republican, and you have a sick child, and you think you’ll be discriminated against by Obama health care because you are a Republican, what are you likely to do? Switch parties, at least in your registration. Look. This administration is utilizing just this kind of fear to get everything it wants and they’re having some success with it.BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Here’s Alex in Houston, Alex, nice to have you here on the EIB Network.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. Mega dittos from Houston.
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: It’s an honor to talk to you.
RUSH: Thank you, sir.
CALLER: Hey, I just wanted to say real quick you motivate, you inspire—and, you know, we out here, my family and I appreciate everything that you and Hannity and Levin do. We appreciate it.
RUSH: Thank you very much, sir.
CALLER: Hey, I wanted to mention that I am from El Salvador. I’m in the medical industry, and El Salvador does have nationalized health care. It’s a Social Security health care. It just doesn’t work.
I was there — you know, the medication and the pharmaceuticals that people think they’re going to get from this, don’t exist. It will not exist. And, you know, it’s supposed to be a prestigious honor for the doctors to work in the hospitals out there. And the bottom line is, if they don’t participate in the Social Security hospitals, they get bullied. They magically get audited, their license gets yanked for a couple or two or three weeks, and they actually truly bully you into giving up a few of your hours to work at the hospitals, and I think somehow that’s going to happen here.
RUSH: One way or another, some strain of it will no doubt happen. When the government is in charge of this, there’s nowhere else you can go for a grievance, there’s nowhere else you can work for when they control the industry. If you complain, you’re up in deep doo-doo.
Of course, we had a great call yesterday from some guy in Ontario, right across the lake or the bridge from Detroit. And he’s citing a case of a guy with stage four melanoma. There are two hospitals that are great in treating kind of cancer he’s got, 30 minutes away in Detroit. Canada “approved” him only to go to Buffalo, four hours away, approved.
You think health care is a crisis and you want it fixed and so forth — think about some bureaucrat that you will never meet having to “approve” whatever treatment you want or need. Approve! And then think about the likelihood of being approved if the bureaucrat happens to know that you oppose Obama or Biden.

Along these lines,
your readers need to know that while the White House is diverting our attention toward the health care plan, the house is going to vote on cap and trade this friday, and the senate is voting on card check as we speak.
This is another diversionary tactic.
They are doing everything so fast that the American People can barely keep up.
Both bills are being rammed through by this friday because they want to keep the voters in the dark.
Folks…..call your reps and raise hell !!!!!
You’re absolutely correct, AFVET. I’m working on a piece that will be posted this morning. Nancy Pelosi is trying to fast-track passage of the Waxman-Markey Global Warming/Climate Change energy tax bill. She’s desperate that people are discovering that it will virtually bankrupt the nation (translation – huge taxes to businesses and anyone who uses energy, like farmers, and this will be passed to consumers). What is despicable is that THE BILL HASN’T BEEN FULLY WRITTEN YET.
They’ve posted the first draft – over 1,000 pages – on the government website for people to read. But Waxman was sent back to the drawing board to revise it. So, the vote will be on a bill, the biggest taxation bill in all of American history, that has not been reviewed or fully read by anyone. Outrageous and irresponsible… Pelosi is a witch.
Americans must call, fax, email their congressmen to NOT allow passage of this bill on Friday. It is a travesty.
I am convinced that Pelosi is insane.
How could anyone hate this Country so much as to drive her into the ground like they are trying to do ??
They are systematically destroying the very fabric that sets this country apart from any other country in the world.
BO/MO/Reid/Pelosi/Frank/Dodd/Schumer and the rest of the socialists have got to be removed at the next election, or it will be devastating for our country.
BO’s poll numbers are starting to erode, congress’s numbers have been in the tank for some time.
On another note, a junior house member has submitted a bill to congress to allow the post office to conduct the census, instead of ACORN. Far out…Common sense still exists after all. Sorry can’t recall his name. He was interviewed this morning on Glenn Beck.
Keep up the good work !!
Waxman already has admitted, on camera, that he hadn’t read the bill.
Now Waxman is going to revise it?
1. Has he read it yet ?
2.Who will be revising it.?
3.How quickly will the revisions hit the new bill, so congress can read it ?
4.Will it be passed, come hell or high water, by this weekend?
I deplore audacity and “in your face” arrogance.
The present government is rife with the above attitudes toward the American People.
Disgusting.
AFVET, I know there’s a lot going on in Congress this week, so it’s really easy to get confused.
Waxman is the idiot in charge of the trillion-dollar cap-and-trade global warming bill, not the socialized health care bill. You may want to post this under a different article. But if not, it’s OK to have it here, what the heck?
No worries, it’s a wonder with all that they’re trying to force through, just like TARP and the “porkulus/non-stimulus” bill not too long ago, that the rest of us have not gone crazy. I know I get lightheaded often these days, and just wish they would STOP for a few days and see how their plans are faring, rather than ramming through more and more.
