I know how frugal most Frugal Café readers are. How thriftily you conduct your lives, how you evaluate many factors before making a major household purchase, how excited you get when you save a buck on a carton of eggs, save $5.00 on a book, shop at Goodwill for your kids’ jeans and backpacks to save money. To use a slew of coupons, knocking 50 percent off your food bill and then feeling like you’ve conquered the world.

I am exactly that frugal person, too. I totally understand.

If the Waxman-Markey global warming/climate change/CO2 energy tax bill passes in Congress, your conservative, frugal efforts, being cautious with your few discretionary dollars, will no longer matter. The impact to our entire civil society will be so impacted by this monster taxation bill, that IT WON’T MATTER HOW MUCH YOU SAVE.

It won’t matter how frugal you and your family are, how many pennies you can pinch. You will be so horrifically impacted by the new taxes, new mandates, and new regulations this energy bill will implement, your lifestyle will plummet. Businesses will be financially impacted with the new expensive mandates, and will have to pass those costs off to consumers. Everything will jump dramatically in cost: food, electricity (“skyrocket” per Obama’s own words), gasoline, everything.

Why are we letting these weasels in Washington do this? To grab and then squander more of our money? They’ve already proven just this past month that they can’t keep track of the stimulus money, that scamming and waste has already happened. Joe Biden, our embarrassing vice president, said in an interview that Americans should expect and not be surprised or bothered by waste and scamming of taxpayer monies. NO, WE SHOULD NOT EXPECT THAT FROM OUR GOVERNMENT. We expect better than that from our government. And if they can’t provide better, then we should vote the crooks out.

Why are we doing this, this ridiculous global warming tax? As a thinking human being, don’t you ever wonder what is the end game here? To save the planet from its own climate? Even though this has been debunked by thousands of reputable scientists and climatologists, still the push to take trillions of dollars from Americans continues. Why?

Mark Levin has covered this many times in his brilliant book Liberty and Tyranny and on his radio talk show. We will all be under government’s thumb in every aspect of our lives with this energy bill. This is a radical, extreme bill, an arrogant power grab. It is meant to surrender your liberty.

According to Levin on today’s radio show, the Federal Government is crucial to the Democratic party. The EPA will grow under this cap-and-trade bill, the entire government will grow. To stay in power, it must keep growing and find new sources of “nutrition.” Its appetite is insatiable. Many industries will be attacked and put out of business, including coal mining in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
