Found this excellent definition of conservatism, as defined by conservative talk show radio host and author Mark Levin, posted at Unaffordable Lollipops for the Electorate: A Magnificent Philosophy:

Conservatism is not a narrow philosophy……it is the philosophy of the Founding Fathers. It is the philosophy of liberty, opportunity, private property, national security.

It is a philosophy that promotes the liberation of the individual, that nurtures competition, and that embraces all people regardless of who they are, or where they have been.

It is a philosophy that rejects the authoritarianism of the few, of the politician, of the bureaucrat; and promotes limited, stable and predictable government authority.

It is a philosophy that rejects the bankrupting of future generations to pay for the benefits of the current generation.

It is a philosophy that expects its citizens to abide by a just and righteous and predictable law and demands the same from aliens who cross our borders illegally.

It is a philosophy which emphasizes the family and faith, over government.

Conservatism is the antidote to tyranny. It’s the only one. It’s based on thousands of years of human experience. There is nothing narrow about the conservative philosophy. It’s a liberating philosophy.

It is a magnificent philosophy.

It is a philosophy for the ages, for all times.

I'm a conservative frugalist. My priorities: Watchdogging the government, making sure our tax dollars are spent wisely, living within our budgets (at home and in Washington, DC), and adhering to our Constitution and the conservative principles upon which it was developed by our founding fathers. Also, loving God, my family, and my country. Be wise, be frugal. God bless America!

Along these lines, Redstate.com has a piece concerning Michelle Obama’s influence on the administration.

It seems we are being attacked from all directions, coupled with a shell game to try to figure out where the money is going to and to whom.

The libs are afraid, and the accelerator is on the floor.
Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.

I pray that the light at the end of the tunnel for them is not the end of the tunnel, rather it is us, U.S. driving the train right toward them.

    Your piece was about conservatism.
I agree with Mark Levin, but I have talked to many people who are so ignorant about what is going on in front of their very eyes and yet never watch the news or listen to conservative radio, or your Blog etc.
Very frustrating when they tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about.
The arrogance and the ignorance is astounding !!

    2010…we vote again.

    God help us.

I’m scared to death that Mark’s going to die of a heart attack! He is so passionate and so intense, which of course is part of the reason that we all love to hear him.
Love this blog… as all others too.
