When Will Mark Sanford’s Sorrowful Mid-life Crisis Press Coverage Come to an End?

Embroiled in a sex scandal that won't quit, Gov. Mark Sanford
Enough already…
Am I the only one screaming inside, “I’m sick of it! When will Mark Sanford’s pathetic mid-life crisis press coverage come to an end?!”
This one really put me over the edge (Hot Air is cleverly spoofing, but links to the real news article, which is not spoofing):

The man did wrong, no doubt about that. He has been as deceitful and hurtful as a man can ever be to his wife and family. He’s a worm.
But I must ask these three questions:
First question: How many stories are there of Mark Sanford’s affair vs. John Edwards and HIS illicit, lied-about affair that brought forth a love child from his mistress? Media overkill, as always, when a Republican falls from grace.
Second question: Why in the heck doesn’t Mark Sanford just ZIP it (or, could someone who still cares about him advise him to zip it?) and stop his emotional crybaby talking and talking and TALKING to the press, thus digging himself into deeper dog doo-doo with more lies and drama and TMI about his creepy extramarital love life?
Third question: Why can’t Sanford live out his mid-life crisis privately, outside the field of vision of the camera lens, like other men and women do? Beyond the first news day, I don’t know why anyone legitimately cares about a man in politics having a heterosexual affair. Geez, you’d think he’d murdered puppies. It’s not like he’s the first, nor will be the last, politician to screw up and be unfaithful to his wife.

Sanford backs out of promise to release records
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford has backed out of a promise to release personal financial records proving he did not use state money for trips to see his mistress.A day after Sanford declared in an emotional Associated Press interview that his mistress is his soul mate, spokesman Joel Sawyer says the governor does not want to discuss personal matters in the media anymore. The state is investigating Sanford’s travel to see the Argentine woman the governor identified as his lover.
Sanford agreed this week to provide the AP with proof of his payment for trips to New York and Argentina to see her.
His staff first said the records might be made available Tuesday, and then the governor’s spokesman said Wednesday Sanford would not release them.
