Filmmaker John Ziegler Defends Sarah Palin, Denounces Media’s Attacks on Her Children… Heated Interview on ‘The View’ about Media Bias

Found this video of a heated, screaming-match February 2009 interview about media bias on The View, with filmmaker John Ziegler about the media’s negative treatment of Gov. Sarah Palin and her family.
Except for Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the View panel believes Hillary Clinton was treated just as viciously by the media (are ya kiddin’ me?) as Palin had been treated during the presidential campaign. Of course, this show aired back in February, so attacking Palin’s children hadn’t escalated yet (the nasty HuffPo joke piece that was online a few hours ago, mocking Palin’s special needs baby, has been yanked, thank God), nor had Letterman’s calling Palin a “slutty airline attendant” or joking about her 14-year-old daughter being raped by an adult baseball player during a baseball game had yet happened.
Ziegler also discusses his documentary film Media Malpractice and how Barack Obama was elected via the media’s dewy-eyed love affair with him. Barbara Walters nearly has a meltdown. Quite entertaining.
This aired months before the David Letterman debacle.

We seem to be getting to know each other via trackbacks. First let me tell you how much I enjoy the classiness of your blog.
It is my feeling that the time has come that the liberal media and socialist internet trolls, ala HuffPo & Daily Kos et al, have run out their attacks on Sarah to the point that most people now see it clearly for what it is…. gutter low life trollism and now take a dim view of them and their behavior. Further, I feel that future attacks will have a reverse effect in that it will benefit Sarah at their expense.
And who are they trying to convince? Me? You? Millions of others who see through their self-serving lying viciousness? They are now talking to themselves and I for one do not expect to convince them of a damn thing except that they are more and more being viewed by the majority of people around the world as the slime ball troll zombies they are.
Fact is, Sarah scares the hell out of them because she is the one person, work still to be done aside, that can bring down their house of cards.
She is real and they are smoke and mirrors. She is a mold breaker and they are dead fish going with the flow.

Wow. You’ve warmed my heart with your comments. And I also enjoy reading your blog entries (to Frugal Café readers, you need to check her blog out, if you haven’t already).
The Palin attacks have troubled me since Day 1, when Obama sent a team of 30 lawyers (or so I recall) to Alaska to “get dirt on her” right after her running-mate candidacy was announced. Crikey… 30 well-paid, well-coiffed lawyers… who returned with bupkes. So, the MSM was needed to keep cranking up the heat on this conservative, magnificent, principled woman, to tenaciously rip her apart with anything their grimy little hands could get or fabricate. First, heat about no interviews. Then, heat about not being prepared for the resulting hostile interviews. Then attacks on her husband, her children, and searching out anyone in Alaska who was hungry for attention to speak against her. And it grew and grew and grew into the “Palin must be destroyed” monster that it became and still persists.
I agree with you… Sarah scares the hell out of them. They have no idea why a woman who isn’t polished like most other weaselly politicians would ever appeal to “Main Street America.” Or why a huge percentage of Americans do NOT want to go down the path to socialism to spread “equal misery.” They’re in their delusional, elitist, liberal bubbles, and unaware of the millions of people who did NOT vote for Obama nor ever wanted or asked for America to be “remade.” And many of these people adore Sarah Palin for her integrity and grit.
Yes, I think you’re right on the money about more and more Americans realizing that the fears expressed (and suppressed by the media) about Obama and his shifty (and concealed) past should have been heeded. The outcry will only intensify now that the cap-and-trade, tax-Americans-to-the-poor-house tax was passed in the House. It’s lamentable that so many paid so little attention until it personally hit them in their wallets, but better late than not at all. Socialized health care isn’t going to be the slam dunk they thought it would be.
Palin was maligned for saying during the campaign that Obama “palled around with terrorists.” Heck, HE DID. William Ayers was acquitted on a technicality, as was his wife. Otherwise, he would have been sent to prison for his involvement in the bombings and killings that his terrorist group committed on American soil.
The Democrats are overreaching (poll approval numbers are hitting bottom), and Obama’s approval ratings are falling faster than yesterday’s garbage down a trash chute. He hasn’t yet really “stepped in it” yet (correction: he has, but up until now, MSM damage control has been able to contain it), but he will. He most certainly will.
Palin is not out of the political picture forever. I’m not sure which way she’s going to go, but I respect her for her choice, which I know was difficult for her. She has too much to offer, which explains the relentless, biased attacks on her. I believe she is capable of polishing her “public persona” (as witnessed in her Today interview with Matt Lauer on the vile comments Letterman made about her daughters – she was great), but the REAL Sarah needs no polishing. She’s the genuine article, not a shill nor a fraud, and that will make all the difference.
Thank you again for your positive support… I love your blog, and am glad that you’re “on the right side,” LOL. We lovers of America all need to stick together, even if we don’t always agree on all issues. Happy Fourth of July… our nation is going through extremely trying times, but she will survive because of patriots like you and me and others not being silent about the dismantling of the greatest nation on Earth. Sarah will survive, believe me. I admire her character, and backbone for standing up and removing her family from the MSM microscope.
She terrifies the libs because they know mainstream America will not put up with the crap that is being rammed down our throats almost on a daily basis by this administration and congress for much longer. (2010).

Letterman claimed nearly a week later that he MEANT the joke to be about Palin’s older daughter Bristol who did not attend the baseball game, and was, in fact, at home in Alaska, not in New York. The daughter who attended the baseball game with Sarah Palin in New York was Willow, and she is 14.
I don’t buy Letterman’s attempt to whitewash the vile joke. Willow accompanied her mother on the trip, and it was publicized that Willow was there. Letterman has a well-paid team of writers who should have made the distinction in the joke but didn’t. Letterman also rehearsed the perverted joke. So, the fact that he now claims that he didn’t know Willow was in New York is a hard-to-swallow crock. And many others don’t buy into it, either. He just didn’t expect the backlash and cancellation of sponsors, hence, he tried to do damage control. If he had made a sincere apology from the get-go, I would have given him the benefit of the doubt. I’ve written about this extensively, and included video links to Letterman’s performance. He never once said “Bristol,” “the older daughter,” (not that THAT would have made the joke better), only that Palin’s “daughter joining Palin in New York” was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez. Adult man having sex with a 14-year-old girl is statutory rape.

Speaking of anti-Semitism, it’s Jerry Falwell and other fundy leaders who’ve gleefully predicted that in the future EVERY nation will be against Israel (an international first?) and that TWO-THIRDS of all Jews will be killed, right?
Wrong! It’s the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah who predicted all this in the 13th and 14th chapters of his book! The last prophet, Malachi, explains the reason for this future Holocaust that’ll outdo even Hitler’s by stating that “Judah hath dealt treacherously” and “the Lord will cut off the man that doeth this” and asks “Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother?”
Haven’t evangelicals generally been the best friends of Israel and persons perceived to be Jewish? Then please explain the recent filthy, hate-filled, back-stabbing tirades by David Letterman (and Sandra Bernhard and Kathy Griffin) against a leading evangelical named Sarah Palin, and explain why most Jewish leaders have seemingly condoned Palin’s continuing “crucifixion”!
While David, Sandra, and Kathy are tragically turning comedy into tragedy, they are also helping to speed up and fulfill the Final Holocaust a la Zechariah and Malachi, thus helping to make the Bible even more believable!

You bring up some interesting points, Darrell. Although I don’t know enough about many of them, I agree with you that Palin has been unfairly maligned and attacked by many hateful liberals.
