Nevada Poll: Majority Want Sen. Harry Reid Out, Sarah Palin in Nevada Senate or White House

UPDATE, July 7, 2009: From Hot Air, video of Palin’s FOX interview in Alaska:

Mainstream media is still loudly banging the anti-Palin drum, attacking or crucifying Sarah Palin on anything that can take on a desired negative spin. Some extremist liberal bloggers seem to think attacking her special needs baby is the right course of action, the honorable thing to do to destroy Palin’s life and political career.
But, fewer people are listening… why should they? The proof is in the pudding with the spendthrift hooligans in Washington versus Palin’s track record in Alaska. Millions of people adore Palin—her common sense and conservative values drown out the banshee wailing of the Left. Despite the non-stop frothing and screaming from the MSM, that Palin is washed up in politics, she’s a bad mother, she’s a hypocrite for resigning office, only liberals who hate her are listening. And they were never going to vote for her, anyway.
I stumbled on this Nevada KXNT radio station poll and have kept an eye on it sporadically through the day to affirm its consistency. Looks like a majority of Nevadans who voted want Palin to either run against and replace “Dirty Harry” Reid as the Nevada senator (30%) or to take a run at the White House (53%); only a small minority think her political career is over now (15%) that she’s resigned as Alaska’s governor:

Nevada's KXNT radio poll: Reid out, Palin in? Results through afternoon of July 6, 2009
Things don’t look too rosy, based on this poll, for Harry Reid’s future in Nevada government.
Fresh commentary on Palin’s resignation by Robert Stacy McCain at Hot Air; here are a few key paragraphs:
…I’ve got MSNBC on my office TV and the mid-day newsette just referred to Palin’s “baffling” resignation. It’s not baffling. Palin explained her reasons, and her reasons sounded entirely plausible to me. What baffles the pundits is the fact that it was (a) unexpected, and (b) doesn’t fit the established script for presidential hopefuls.
The people who pronounce themselves “baffled,” and who conclude that Palin has made a stupid move by resigning, are leaving a couple of things out of their calculations. First, Palin is a Christian who, in the past, has made straightforward reference to the will of God. What she believes — what she must believe — is that if it is God’s will that she become president, she will. Therefore, the conventional wisdom of the commetariat and all the advice from political “experts” are just so much noise to her.
Second, Palin’s closest adviser is her husband, Todd. He is not stupid. He is also not a man who will show up on TV and blabber his every thought for the sake of creating the impression that he knows everything.
Just because you don’t know what Sarah Palin is doing doesn’t mean that she doesn’t know what she’s doing.

Great Post.
Sarah Palin is a cool breeze on a hot humid night.
IMO, she would do better not to take a senate seat for Nevada.
Sounds like Reid is out anyhow, and she would be limiting her exposure to America by running for it. Why be constrained by the Senate ?
To Sarah,..you go girl and bring the conservatives in this country back toward our founding principles.
Todd is a lucky man.
