Heartbreaker: A Daughter’s Love and Grief for Her Deceased Father, Michael Jackson (video)
Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on July 7, 2009
No matter your love, hate, or indifference, only someone with a heart of stone could not be touched by this brief speech at Michael Jackson’s over-the-top memorial service today by his 11-year-old daughter Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, and this child’s genuine grief about losing her beloved Daddy.
But why did this poor child have to speak at all? Who in the hell had this cruel idea? Funerals are scary enough for children, and Paris has lived most of her life out of the public eye, and either was under a veil or behind a mask when out with her famous father. Being cajoled/forced by the Jackson clan to stand at a mic and talk in front of thousands of people was yet another heartless pimping.
This time, the pimping was of a shy little girl, overwhelmed by the mindless media circus, whose young heart was breaking from the loss of her father. No thought about how this may have affected or frightened her, but how it would look to the adoring crowd and, of course, on the MJ memorial service DVD. No moral dilemma here… part of the performance, dontcha know. Bastards…
For those who’ve been living without any media or Internet contact for the last few weeks, international pop star Jackson was honored today at an unprecedented memorial service in Los Angeles. He passed away at age 50 on June 25. Cause of death has not yet been finalized by the coroner.
Michael, may you rest in peace. Thank you for the gift of your talent. I pray for your children that they will recover from their grief and not become victims of the money-driven media monster that had its hand in destroying you.
And I’m glad you’re no longer having to endure the greedy, hypocritical, give-me-a-handout fans, industry moochers, and Jackson family members. God bless.
Tearful memorial for Michael Jackson
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN), July 7, 2009 — Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Katherine addressed mourners at the Staples Center on Tuesday, tearfully telling them her father was “the best father you could ever imagine.”Paris Katherine Jackson, 11, said goodbye to her father at the close of the memorial service.
“Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine,” the 11-year-old said. “And I just wanted to say I love him so much.”
Jackson’s children, who often have been hidden by veils or blankets when seen with their father, were sitting in the front row at the Staples Center as their father’s life and music were remembered.
Jackson’s remains were nearby in a closed, rose-draped, bronze casket. His brothers, who served as pallbearers, wore single white sequined gloves, a tribute to their brother’s signature look of the 1980s.
“Michael, when you left us, a part of me went with you,” brother Marlon Jackson said. “And a part of you will live forever within me, but also a part of you will live forever within all of us.”
Marlon Jackson said the world could not understand what his brother endured “being judged and ridiculed.”
“How much pain can one man take,” Marlon Jackson asked. “Maybe now, Michael, they will leave you alone.”
Before the final words Jackson’s band members, family, children and celebrities filled the stage to sing Jackson’s “Heal the World.”
The song followed a performance of “We are the World,” the 1985 hit written by Jackson and Lionel Richie to raise money for African famine relief.

Michael, rest in peace.
