You’re absolutely right, Cal. However, if the reason someone is being discriminated against and told to leave is because of their political affiliation or philosophical ideology (conservatism), it should alarm you. If the vendor had been, say, black or gay or Muslim or aetheist, and the property manager wanted them out for that reason (and there was no violation of their contract), there are now laws protecting them from such discrimination. No such laws exist for discrimination against conservatives. As the reason cited for expulsion was for “offensive material” reasons, yet that rule was not being uniformly enforced through out the mall with much more offensive materials/goods, it appears that discrimination is occurring.

Since capitalism and property rights operate within the same playing field as conservatism, the hypocrisy of the mall owners is interesting.

I’m sure we’ll hear more on this story as time moves on.

If a mall doesn’t want a vendor on their premises, for whatever reason, that’s their right. It’s their property, not the vendor’s. They’re not obligating to rent space out to everyone, just to whoever they decide to. That’s how capitalism and property rights work.
