Sarah Palin says farewell, steps down as Alaska's governor

On Sunday: Gov. Sarah Palin’s farewell speech to Alaska: she warned about big government, thanked her supporters, reminded Alaskans of their greatness (“Here it is impossible to lose your way…”), and issued a challenge to the media, a free press that has chosen to be less than forthright in political coverage and repeatedly attacked her and her family. She took the MSM to task, urging them to take a more honorable path in reporting the news and exercising the responsibilities of free speech: “How about, in honor of the American soldier, you quit makin’ things up?”

She also strongly urged the media, concerning her replacement, the incoming Governor Sean Parnell, who she said has a very nice family: “Leave his kids alone.”

Never in my adult life have I seen one family in politics be so unfairly and viciously attacked by the left-wing media (and the backstabbing turncoats in the McCain camp), nor have I ever seen a political candidate who has been so attacked to be so gracious and “above the fray” and keep on smiling when in public (although I have no doubt that at home, behind closed doors, she cried and prayed plenty, especially when her children were humiliated). I have no doubt that her faith in God and her love of family and country carried her during her bleakest, most painful days under the lash of the media’s cruel whip.

Most politicians would have crumbled into a whimpering mess after the third day… Palin and her family have endured non-stop attacks since McCain announced she would be his running mate late last summer.

I sincerely doubt Barack Obama could be gracious and good-humored after just a 24-hour sampling of the rabid attacks the media lodged against Sarah Palin, as well as the countless frivolous lawsuits filed against her, these many long months. I know he would not be able to survive it… his testy, defensive demeanor when gently challenged on anything has proven that.

From Breitbart:

In a fiery campaign-style speech, Palin said she was stepping down to take her political battles to a larger if unspecified stage and avoid an unproductive, lame duck status.

“With this decision, now, I will be able to fight even harder for you, for what is right, and for truth. And I have never felt that you need a title to do that,” Palin said to raucous applause from about 5,000 people gathered at Pioneer Park in downtown Fairbanks.

Love her or hate her, Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air and speaks her mind. A class act.

After listening to her for the past years, I’ve always had the feeling that if Reagan could have a vessel to get his philosophies across to the American People, she may be the one.

Remember, Reagan was maligned extensively for being an actor.
    Sarah is not an actor.
Even though Reagan was an actor, it was his philosophy on big government that won his presidential nomination, and victory twice !

I think she has the time to be a voice for conservatism.
She will be maligned by the liberal media and Obama’s attack dogs, relentlessly.

We need to see what happens.

    Sarah,… YOU GO GIRL !!!!!!!!!!
