The Homeless Leavin’ on a Jet Plane: One-Way Ticket Out of NYC to Save City Money

NYC has a creative and creepy way of ridding itself of its homeless people... one-way tickets to anywhere
Not quite the “hope and change” I’d expect of the Big Apple, but it’s definitely a creative (and creepy) way to solve the expense of sheltering, feeding, and helping the homeless. Not sure if this ranks high on the “Empathy Meter,” but I’m thinking that POTUS would approve.
Frankly, it’s too uncomfortably like the main theme in the films Logan’s Run or Soylent Green for my tastes. And neither of those flicks ended prettily. Too many undesirable people… first, the government flies them out of town… next, they encourage them to participate in “The Carousel” at age 30 to be “renewed”… and finally, they cook them into little green protein wafers to feed the world’s socialized controlled masses. Yeah, major creepy.
Will this money-saving effort by New York City permit the Orwellian “sin tax” to be dropped from non-diet sodas and potato chips? Inquiring minds want to know…

NEW YORK – Hit the road, Jack!
That’s the message for the homeless from New York City.
The Big Apple is buying one-way plane tickets for homeless families to leave the city.
It’s part of a program to keep the homeless out of the expensive shelter system.
It costs $36,000 a year to house a family.
Officials report more than 550 families have left the city since 2007.
All it takes is a relative somewhere else to agree to take them in.
