To which, I responded the same day:

“I’ll hold you to that prediction about Malkin’s book “dropping off the charts after a week or two.” …It’s now August 6 – in two weeks, it will be August 20. I’ll check then to see if your prediction that Malkin’s book will drop off the NYT best-sellers list has occurred.

“I’m sure Media Matters and other liberal organizations do precisely what you’re describing Human Events does with books, so don’t get so worked up. Life’s too short, man…”

I’m rather behind schedule in getting back to you on your cynical prediction, Syntax, but today is August 30… and Malkin’s book is STILL Number 1 on the NYT’s list after four weeks. Them’s the breaks, dude. You underestimate the drawing power of a great book and the multitude of conservatives who are hungry for the truth.

Too bad we didn’t bet for money, I could sure use a new pair of shoes. LOL

Kudos to our heroine, Michelle, for vanquishing the “she-dragons” of “The View.”

It’s always a treat to see a strong, well educated, reasonable and strikingly beautiful conservative control and dominate a “interview” with four loud, forceful and hostile, “interviewers”

It’s amazing what a few facts and a little logic can do.

I’ll hold you to that prediction about Malkin’s book “dropping off the charts after a week or two.” There were many liberal naysayers about Mark Levin’s book “Liberty and Tyranny, A Conservative Manifesto” which was also discounted before its release and even more so after a week or so. It still is holding strong at the top of the NYT list (book was released back in March). About a million copies have now been sold of it… I don’t think Human Events bought all of THOSE copies to make it “seem popular.” I’m glad that in this struggling economy, Human Events has enough surplus cash to buy up thousands of Malkin’s book to make her look successful. I think you’re underestimating the demand for conservative books, but we’ll see if indeed you’re right. Malkin has a readership of about 1 million a month on her blog (approximately 50,000 visits a day), so it’s quite fair to say I think you’re wrong.

Why is this “best seller” available for a limited time at 30% off do you ask???

Because Human Events runs out and buys thousands of these books to manipulate the best seller list and then re-sells them at a discount because buying bulk allows them to do that AND create the illusion that the book is massively popular.
