You may recall that Democrats screamed bloody murder about the Republicans’ health care organizational flow chart a few weeks ago—the complicated, colorful flow chart that shows how the government-run health plan that is being cooked up by Obama and the Democrats will look—and set the wheels in motion to prevent the GOP from its mailing of the flow chart to Republican constituents:

Democrats Block GOP Health Care Mailing

By Jackie Kucinich, Roll Call StaffDemocrats are preventing Republican House Members from sending their constituents a mailing that is critical of the majority’s health care reform plan, blocking the mailing by alleging that it is inaccurate.
House Republicans are crying foul and claiming that the Democrats are using their majority to prevent GOP Members from communicating with their constituents…
And now, a few weeks later, all is forgiven:

House Democrats agreed late last week to allow Republicans to send their constituents a mailing critical of the majority’s health care bills, after a two-week delay caused by Democratic allegations that the mailing was inaccurate.
The mailing was approved Friday night after a meeting between Franking Commission Chairwoman Susan Davis (D-Calif.) and Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Calif.), the top Republican on the Franking Commission, according to a GOP aide.
Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) also attended the meeting to help mediate between Davis and Lungren as they worked out a compromise, a senior Democratic aide said.
The dispute centered on a chart created by Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and Republican staff of the Joint Economic Committee to illustrate the organization of the Democratic health care plan. The chart illustrates the Democratic plan as a daunting tangle of agencies and bureaucratic procedures.
“Over the last couple of weeks there has been much discussion about the Republican Joint Economic Committee Health Care Chart,” said an e-mail sent Monday to Republicans from the GOP House Administration Committee staff. “We are pleased to report that the Democratic Members have removed their objections to using the chart.”
What’s tremendously funny about this is the nature of busy people. Most people toss out political mailings without reading them too closely or reading them at all. But, that’s all changed.
If the Democrats hadn’t made such a huge fuss and held the health care chart hostage, as it were, the mailings would have occurred like all others and gone quietly into the good night. Now, the org flow chart has become more widely known, has enjoyed being on FOX news, and conservative and liberal bloggers have been reporting on this debacle nonstop, with the image of the complicated chart flying like buckshot through the blogosphere.
Without the Democrats’ help, and the GOP surprisingly taking swift action, this org flow chart would never have enjoyed the exposure it now has. It could have died of obscurity. Fewer Americans would be informed about what ObamaCare’s mammoth and expensive bureaucracy would look like.
Silence is golden… thanks for the uproar, Democrats.
