why can`t the states have its owh healthcare. if you drive a car you have to have insurances, make it mandatory you have to get insurance throught the state .let the insurances companies bid on the state.like nc we have about 6 or 8 million people which would be about 3 million families ,if each family would pay $100.00 a month that would be $300.000.000 a month what insurance company wouldn`t want that much money coming in each month.make them insure everybody no pre-existing conditions.

Bravo for you, Carole Ann! I'm proud of you and your husband for making the effort and taking the time to equip yourself with facts, and then making your voice heard. You are in a growing group of newbie grassroot activists, and believe me - you are doing important, patriotic work.

Keep it up, and don't let the "steamrolling weasels" get you down. If they don't start listening to the majority and taking appropriate action soon, they will be voted out in a heartbeat.

Now if only 300+ million more Americans would get off their couches and do the same... wouldn't that be something?

God bless.

Early last month my husband and I happened to find out our congressman, Kurt Schrader was going to be in town for a "meet and greet" so we went because of our frustration. I have written many letters and emails to Schrader and Senators Merkley and Wyden letting them know my opposition to their votes for cap and trade, the stimulus and the probablity of their voting for healtcare. All I got back were some canned responses not even addressing the issues I had written about so we were very frustrated in our elected officials. It seems as though they are just steamrolling all of this agenda in whether we want it or not. At the meeting I was delighted to find out we were in the majority, people I had never met before all felt exactly the same as I did, I was also pleased to see they came armed with stats, information and newspaper articles citing what the CBO had claimed. We were certainly not bussed in or paid or coerced in any way to attend, we were all just citizens worried about the state of our country.

Now that the WH and the democrats in power have chosen to denigrate and attack us my resolve to fight them is stronger than ever. This administration is frightening, I can only wish for the good old days when we had a President who was not trying to destroy our country.
