Conservative books top NYT's nonfiction bestseller chart: Mark Levin and Michelle Malkin dominate top two positions

UPDATE, August 12, 2009: Michelle’s book is Number 1 for the second week in a row on the New York Times nonfiction bestsellers list. Big congrats!

A sweet note received this afternoon via email from my dad, with a link to Michelle’s Culture of Corruption: “I watched an interview of this gal yesterday, she is on top of things, I am sure the Obama administration would love to have her ‘disappear’.”

Thanks, Dad, for the heads up… I’ll be sure to find out more about this “gal who is on top of things.” Sure do love my dad, although I hope the creepy “disappearing” thing he pondered doesn’t ever happen.

Journalist Michelle Malkin’s newly released book, Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies, is at the top of nonfiction charts. Lawyer and conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto is still holding strong after being on the list for 19 weeks. Levin has been in the Number 1 New York Times slot for 12 of those 19 weeks, only falling to Number 2 or 3 when the book wasn’t Number 1.

This week’s top two entries on New York Times Bestseller Nonfiction List:

1    CULTURE OF CORRUPTION, by Michelle Malkin. (Regnery, $27.95.) President Obama and his team of tax cheats, petty crooks, influence peddlers and Wall Street cronies.

2    LIBERTY AND TYRANNY, by Mark R. Levin. (Threshold Editions, $25.) A conservative manifesto from a talk-show host and president of Landmark Legal Foundation.
