Some are yelling at voters, some are hiding from voters… Congressional Democrats are not happy campers on their “summer break” from Washington.

And some are actually CHARGING their constituents to voice their dissension…

Hey, give Sheila Jackson-Lee a little credit — at least she talks on her cell phone while actually attending a town hall and ignoring her constituents’ questions in person, rather than Harry Reid, who uses his phone to avoid meeting the peasants face to face in the first place.

The most powerful man in the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), announced on Friday that as a result of recent protests at town hall meetings he won’t hold any such political gatherings during this month’s Congressional recess.

Instead, he will only do what’s called “telephone town halls” where he and his staff have complete control over the questions being asked and who’s asking them.

Should have been big news, right?

Well, according to LexisNexis and Google news searches, not one major media outlet felt it was important enough to share with the citizenry.

Not one.

Indiana Congressman Baron Hill has made his sneering opinions of many of his Indiana constituents CRYSTAL clear… no matter that many of the ObamaCare protesters once-upon-a-time voted for him. Check out the videos on both these sites:

When Democrat leaders disagree with and lose their temper at the very people whom they represent, and who will vote/not vote for them in the next election, well, the stench of panic and self-importance is heavy in the air.

U.S. Congressman David Scott (Democrat, 13th District of Georgia) has most definitely ‘gone wild’ at this Douglasville town hall meeting on an ObamaCare question presented during a Q&A session. The ‘Girls Gone Wild’ drunken-party-girl videos are child’s play compared to Scott’s unexpected fury. People voted for this hot-head? Craziness…

Tim Bishop (D, NY-01) is having something called a “health care reform rally” on Thursday, at (of all things) SEIU’s Hicksville NY offices (1199 Duffy Ave, starts at 1 PM). This is otherwise known as “over twenty miles outside the borders of NY-01.” Bishop is of course one of the first Democrats holding down a Red district (NY-01 is a R+0) to discover that his constituents are paying attention to his votes: he rather famously canceled his future in-district meetings. Presumably he assumes that his constituents won’t drive twenty miles to complain.

This one is creative AND cowardly… a dubious A+ for using children as human shields in Arkansas:

After the office of Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin admitted to receiving over 1,600 RSVP’s for its health care Town Hall, they must have been surprised at the more than 2,000 citizens that showed up according to witnesses and University Police. An urgent request to the AFL-CIO for forces to “counter” those opposed to healthcare was able to result in the a large group of supporters in line hours before the doors opened but was not able to counter the voices of those locked out of the meeting. Sign carrying protesters both for and against the health care bill took up positions on both sides of the road in front of the event with a core group of about 50 supporters being opposed by nearly 300.

And if yelling at and marginalizing your constituents or hiding out from them doesn’t work, you can always depend on a few loyal Obama-bots to show up with faux Obama-Hitler signs, as described in The Weekly Standard excerpt and video below, so that Nancy “Liar of the House” Pelosi doesn’t look like a bigger, fatter liar than she already is.

Last week, Think Progress produced four pictures of protesters linking Obama or his health-care plan to Nazism.

The left-wing blog’s work was dutifully reproduced by The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan to refute my contention that Pelosi had dishonestly and disingenuously said that townhall protesters were “carrying swastikas”. If you look at the pictures, you’ll see that the protesters were carrying anti-Nazi signs–not pro-Nazi signs as Pelosi indicated. That’s an important distinction. But, to put it mildly, comparing your political opponents in America to Nazis is inappropriate–no matter if the comparison is made by Pelosi or left-wing talker Bill Press or Rush Limbaugh (in response to Pelosi’s “swastikas” statement) or Andrew Sullivan who routinely compares those who support harsh interrogations of al Qaeda members to the Gestapo.

Now, Dave Weigel points out that the Obama-as-Hitler posters are produced by the group of many-times Democratic presidential candidate (and absolute nutter) Lyndon LaRouche.

I don’t doubt that there may be tens–nay, dozens–of conservative protesters out of the tens (hundreds?) of thousands who will attend Obamacare town-hall meetings this month holding signs comparing Obamacare to Nazism. It is still dishonest and disingenuous to claim that one protester carrying an Obama-as-Hitler sign in 10,000 is representative of the whole group. It is an especially dishonest talking-point when we don’t know whether left-wing Democrats or right-wingers are carrying the signs.
