UPDATE, August 14, 2009: Whoa, Nelly! Here’s the reason Barbara Boxer (D-CA) won’t be addressing her constituents on national concerns like socialized health care… she has a BOOK TOUR scheduled. Lah-di-dah… Priorities, Babs, priorities… read Jude, Big Hollywood: Boxer’s Book Signings: Bold, Open Forums for the locations where SENATOR “Don’t Call Me Ma’am” Boxer will be hawking her book in the cities of Danville, San Jose, and San Francisco in California. Thank me later.

In early May N.C. Sen. Kay Hagan’s staff put our request for a town hall meeting “on file” and said “we’ll be in touch” Four months later they were still singing that song.
Sen. Hagan needed to understand she works for us. She will not control us by ignoring us. We’re in control! Therefore we are holding a Mock Town Hall Meeting Saturday August 15th. Everyone who chooses, can speak for one minute. We will video tape the entire meeting and send the DVD to Sen. Hagan. Also for the convenience of the senator’s staff we are posting the video on youtube and other internet sites.
We will be heard.
We will not be ignored.
We will not be controlled.
We will speak the truth with boldness.
We are the voice of America.
We’re coming. Get use to it.

The Healthcare Tea Party on Friday, April 14 in the heart of San Francisco was large, spirited and respectful. What it missed was representation: In spite of repeated attempts to contact and invitations to each, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein were AWOL.

I have heard that there is a Democratic Protest today, 9/2/10 in San Francisco and that Pelosi, Boxer and Feinstein will be there. The protest is from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and they will be there toward the end of it. Someone said we should try and go there today with signs or call their offices. It is that they will not sign a pledge that other senators have signed saying they will review the whole healthcare bill. Is this true?
Mary, I’m not aware of this, but by all means, pursue it and call your local newspaper for current, local events for confirmation/details. This is definitely worth attending!
