Looks Like West Los Angeles Is Another Hot Bed for ACORN-Union Thuggery Against ObamaCare Protesters

Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on August 17, 2009

Town hall and tea party protests are getting uglier as more Astro-turf liberal groups are infiltrating the grassroots protest groups against ObamaCare.

ACORN and SEIU union members are reportedly showing up and have been reported to have pushed, shoved, or assaulted those who are demonstrating against ObamaCare. As reported last week in St. Louis, a black conservative was assaulted and hospitalized by union thugs at a socialized health care protest. More violence has occurred in Tampa and other locations.

In West Los Angeles, more violence occurred this past week, as described in the following video produced by InflationUS. I’m including it because it appears to be legitimate, but on the side of fairness, no violence actually occurs in the video, only the accounting of it. There also was no police report filed, from what I can ascertain. At this point, I’m giving it credibility since nothing disproves that the injuries to this handicapped woman happened and because thuggery from ACORN and SEIU goons (many bussed in by Obama affiliates and cronies) have been reported elsewhere in the country:

Townhall Protest: Liberal Left-winger Lies & Assault a Disabled Women

From American Power Blog:

There’s more to the story: If you look at the start of the video, you’ll see a “Sepulveda Boulevard” street sign, which is West Los Angeles. Protesters turned out yesterday for a demonstration at Senator Dianne Feinstein’s Westwood Office at the intersection of Sepulveda and Santa Monica Boulevards. Check the page for the National Inflation Association. They’ve got loads of YouTube videos from the event…

We believe the violence erupting today at health care town hall meetings is only a sign of things to come. These meetings will likely get louder and more raucous in the upcoming weeks and if Obama moves forward with his plan to socialize health care in America, the violence could potentially escalate to an uncontrollable level.

I heard a comment that “the cops didn’t do anything” and as a 33 year veteran cop I can tell you that they probably didn’t have any right of arrest and nothing more. The police are there to keep the peace and protect everyone’s civil liberties and I’m concerned that there have been comments insinuating that we are somehow government thugs. I assure you that we are not. When we’re out there doing our job we are very cognizant of everyone’s civil liberties regardless of how we feel personally and will act in a professional manner despite our own personal opinions. We, of all groups, know what the loss of personal liberties feels like because we have been the first to lose them. If anyone out there thinks that the police are just a government tool to take away personal liberties then you’re wrong. Trust me.

Dave, truer words have not been spoken.

It takes an enormous amount of guts, a respect for the law, a desire to help one’s fellow citizens, a calling to put one’s life in the line of fire in order to “protect and serve” a community as a police officer. ANYONE who says otherwise is, IMO, a person of nefarious behavior who is angry that they can’t break the law without consequences. The majority of people understand that we need law enforcement to protect the community, but a handful of miscreants who are quick to blame “Johnny Law” because they were arrested for drug possession, reckless driving or DUI, breaking and entering, smuggling, assault, you name it, are the same people who take no responsibility for their actions and like spoiled angry brats, blame the police for their mess when they get caught. Many are hardened criminals, with no regard for anyone else or anyone else’s property or liberty. When they are forced to “pay the piper” for their crimes, they take the stance that they are the victim and the police are the bad guys. Laughable and lamentable.

“Government tool?” What in the heck is that suppose to mean? Utter idiocy.

Yes, a few officers are sometimes found guilty of taking advantage of their power, of they themselves breaking the law, of being corrupt. The percentage that do, though, is so small, it isn’t worth noting. But law breakers and low-lifers are the first to bring it up. And they will scream it from their bellies to deflect attention from their own shortcomings, poor life choices, and committed crimes.

Sometimes the police are helpless to make an arrest, and that’s controversial to some people. Without evidence or corroborative witnesses, police cannot willy-nilly arrest someone. Sometimes that can be frustrating, to the victim and/or the officer, but it’s a rule of law and conduct that must be in place to prevent abuse of the system. America does not endorse Gestapo tactics. Sometimes it regrettably rewards the perpetrator, but it is meant to protect the rights of all citizens.

Dave, you and thousands more like you, make my family safer, make my country safer. We live in far more security here in the United States than in many other countries. I hold our law enforcement men and women in the same high regard I do our courageous military. And I believe many of the readers here do, too. Sadly, it’s usually those who have an ax to grind who write comments against the police.

Thank you for your service. It’s a job I could never do. Thank God there are those who can and choose to do so.
