The last two statements in your comment are indicative of your age. You must be very young.

We have been an example to the world for 200+ years. That's why people want to come here ! To escape tyranny and socialism and obtain freedom.

Embarrassment to ourselves ?
If your embarrassed, move,...maybe you'll feel better.

With all due respect, I do not agree with you on your comments about the absence of fascism in this White House.

I grabbed this paragraph from Wikipedia (yes, I'm under deadline, so I went to that Obama-bot written site for this... my bad): Tell me that there is absolutely nothing remotely at all going on in the White House that falls under any of these examples.

Fascists believe that nations and/or races are in perpetual conflict whereby only the strong can survive by being healthy, vital, and by asserting themselves in conflict against the weak. Fascists advocate the creation of a single-party state. Fascist governments forbid and suppress criticism and opposition to the government and the fascist movement. Fascism opposes class conflict, blames capitalist liberal democracies for its creation and communists for exploiting the concept. In the economic sphere, many fascist leaders have claimed to support a "Third Way" in economic policy, which they believed superior to both the rampant individualism of unrestrained capitalism and the severe control of state communism. This was to be achieved by establishing significant government control over business and labour (Mussolini called his nation's system "the corporate state"). No common and concise definition exists for fascism and historians and political scientists disagree on what should be in any concise definition.

I agree with you on some points in your post, but as was pointed out, a number of pro-Obama folks are posing as conservatives at many of these ralleys with the offensive Hitler comparisons.

At this point, taking "the high road" is desireable, but NOT letting this atrocious health care bill be passed is of greater priority. Since the White House is advertising for its own protesters (LA Times has a story on it, and I've written about it), paying someone $10 - $15 an hour to pretend to be a health care supporter is far more vile to me, as it is deliberately trying to persuade opinion through lies and straw man arguments. Those wouldn't be so offensive by themselves, but they actually are convincing people who are sitting on the fence about health care.

It's like being offended by an arsonist who is cursing at you and is lying about setting your house on fire. Which is more offensive, alarming, and damaging: the angry profanities and lies he spews, or the fact that he has set your house ON FIRE? I vote for the latter.

Focus on the forest, not an isolated tree is what I'm trying to say. Don't be distracted and offended by the obligatory Hitler comparisons... heck, last week, I received two death threats from two sicko puppies for what I've written on this blog. I've had threats made against me, comparing me to a whore, a bimbo, a hippie (LOL - I used to be one before I wised up).

Concerned? Naturally. Distracted by the vicious name calling? No way.

Focus, focus, people. ObamaCare defeat is more important than a few transparent insults.

And, if anyone were to EVER call Bush a Nazi, a murderer, a BusHitler, a fascist, a dictator, Satan... oh, yeah, they already did. The Patriot Act, as uncomfortable as it made me, had to be done. Remember, 9/11 had devastated our nation and many terrorists were (and are) in our midst, plotting more attacks. The targetting of terrorists in emails/wire-tapping is NOTHING like what Obama has wanted to do with his "report your neighbor's fishy opinions on ObamaCare" on regular Americans. The wiretapping is still being conducted by the Obama administration, BTW.

So far, there is nothing from Obama that is remotely as fascist as "The Patriot Act".

Personally, I think both sides should stop with the Nazi comparisons. It's pretty clear that is one of the points that causes both sides to lose perspective.

I was always offended by caricatures of Bush even though I did not vote for his reelection.

Lets take the high road and show the rest of the world how things are done.
Lets be an example to the rest of the world and not an embarrasement to ourselves.
