Left-Wing ObamaCare Minions Boycotting Whole Foods: Help Out a Courageous Corporate Leader Not in Obama’s Hip Pocket
Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on August 21, 2009
This boycott of Whole Foods by ObamaCare left-wing wackos is ridiculous… but we who celebrate liberty and our Constitution can take a stand and support Whole Foods. CEO John Mackey’s stance to not support socialized health care has nothing to do with the chain’s policies, working conditions, or food quality. The attacks are a leftist, extremist move in a desperate attempt to sway Americans and to squash free speech. Oppose King Obama… and we’ll make you suffer!
Let freedom ring and let them eat organic arugula!

FOX: Greta Van Susteren – Whole Foods Fight
Here’s a portion of the article that Mackey wrote for the Wall Street Journal that has their undies all twisted into a knot:
…While we clearly need health-care reform, the last thing our country needs is a massive new health-care entitlement that will create hundreds of billions of dollars of new unfunded deficits and move us much closer to a government takeover of our health-care system. Instead, we should be trying to achieve reforms by moving in the opposite direction—toward less government control and more individual empowerment.
Michelle Malkin weighs in:
Their food is pricey, but if you have a chance/opportunity to help counter the boycott, go out and buy a few Whole Foods items. I think it’s worth it.

Do you believe the Constitution is the rule of law? Do you believe in the original intent of our founding fathers? Do you want to reform Congress? If your answer is yes, we have to work together to make this happen.

It irritates me that the lawyer who is promoting the protest against Mackey doesn’t even have his facts straight…a majority of US doctors do NOT say that a single payer system is best and the current and previous head of the Canadian Medial Association have both gone on the record as saying that THEIR system is broken and they need reform in Canada that includes more private insurance. Additionally, there is not truly a single payer system in Canada – there are many groups that are not included in the national system including the military and those on worker’s comp.
Mackey probably gives more money to charity in a single year than that lawyer will in his entire life.
I agree, AndyZ. This lawyer is a shill for ObamaCare, but not a very good one. His talking points are limited and his sources suspect. His statement that a “majority of doctors want socialized health care” is highly suspect because it A) goes against everything I’ve read from Rasmussen, Gallup, and Zogby, and B) omits from what group of doctors this percentage (would have to be 51% or higher) was determined. Or, the lawyer could have pulled it out of thin air.
Possible sources for the statistical “findings”: Could it be from AMA doctors (and only a small percentage of doctors belong to AMA, with a growing number dropping out)? From doctors in Massachusetts? From where? Everything I’ve read (and you’re right about the CMA having a nightmare on their hands) does not align with what this man says. No way did he poll ALL doctors… that is totally unfeasible and would be a lie. A statistical average can be derived from a sample group… I just want to know the make-up of the group, because I suspect it is very partisan and possible very small, rendering worthless.
Another thing that bugs me with this lawyer is this statement: “60 people a day DIE because they don’t have health care.” Where in the heck did that statistic come from? I read a lot about health care and I’m stymied about that statistic and by what method/polling/averaging/blah blah blah it was derived. Did people who don’t have health care insurance die as a result of not having health care insurance? Or did they did they die AND they weren’t covered by health insurance. There is a vast difference between not having health care and not having health care insurance. People without health care insurance do in fact get health care attention at clinics or pay out of pocket at the GP’s (as I did up until recently, when my employer finally offered Humana health insurance). Just because you don’t have health insurance does NOT mean you can’t get medical assistance. Bogus statement.
So back to the unfortunate 60 people a day who are dying off because they don’t have health care (or is it health care insurance? Not clear) and that “Mackay is a bad man” for wanting them to die because he doesn’t support ObamaCare…
This lawyer is miffed and sounds like he has an ax to grind. Every thing he says reeks of fallacious argumentation… I’d like to know how many people a day DIE who DO have health insurance. Did they die AS A RESULT of having the insurance (which is silly, but just as silly as the opposite)? The “60 people a day” is a purely nonsensical number with no meaning because we have no idea how it was determined. People die, whether or not they have health coverage or physicians tending to them. Fact of life. To link lack of health insurance as the CAUSE of death is again fallacious argumentation. Too many holes in what this clown says… he’s like most statists in that they don’t back up their claims with anything quantifiable or reputable or rendered impartially.
You’re right about John Mackey. Click the link to Michelle Malkin’s writeup – she has great info on the charitable deeds and donations of John Mackey. The man is amazing and one of the most charitable people I’ve ever seen. He also has great health insurance for his employees (approx. 50,000) and many unique “empower the individual” company programs. He draws only 1 dollar a year in salary from what I’ve read.
I wrote an email to this lawyer’s union today, thanking them for the boycott. I’ve never shopped at Whole Foods before, but now, because of their smear job and the nasty publicity they’ve been churning up, my daughter and I will be shopping at Whole Foods tomorrow morning. In my email, I asked them to notify me as to whom they would next be maligning and smearing for not supporting ObamaCare, because I’d want to shop there, too. I thanked them for helping to kill ObamaCare with their ridiculous boycott.
Hope I get a response. LOL.
God help us
