Singing Sensation Danyl Johnson: Next Simon Cowell Discovery?

Posted By on August 25, 2009

The “Simon Cowell touch” may produce yet another pop star.

Danyl Johnson, a 27-year-old teacher from Reading, England, is predicted to become the next singing sensation to be discovered by X-Factor, the British counterpart for American Idol.

X-Factor launched the extraordinary career of Leona Lewis. Lewis, as a result of winning the singing competition in 2006, has become a multi-platinum selling artist and three-time Grammy Award nominee. At this point, she has released one album Spirit, in 2007. Spirit became the fastest-selling debut album and the biggest seller of 2007 in both the UK and Republic of Ireland, and made Lewis the first British solo artist to top the Billboard 200 with a debut album. Her second album, Echo, is due for release in November 2009.

With his unexpected, exceptional audition performance, singing The Beatles’ “With a Little Help from My Friends,” Johnson impressed celebrity judge Simon Cowell and was given a standing ovation.

I like him.
