Bad News for POTUS: Majority of Voters Want Less Gov’t “Freebies,” Lower Taxes — More Believe Obama Has Low View of American Society

The frugal mentality in America is increasing… huzzah!

More Americans are realizing that if the government is “giving” them something, it either has strings attached or costs them more in taxes. No such thing as a “free government entitlement.” If Pres. Obama gives away anything, he took it from someone else. Per a new poll, more American voters want fewer expensive government “freebies.”

And an increasing majority of Americans want Pres. Obama OUT of their wallets.

From Rasmussen Reports, August 26, 2009:

America’s Best Days
70% Prefer Government That Provides Fewer Services With Lower Taxes

Seventy percent (70%) of likely voters now favor a government that offers fewer services and imposes lower taxes over one that provides more services with higher taxes, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

That’s up five points over the past month and is the highest level measured in nearly three years…

Most Republicans (88%) and voters not affiliated with either major party (78%) like a government with lower taxes and fewer services, and 48% of Democrats agree. However, one-in-three Democrats (34%) prefer more government services and higher taxes.

And in the same report, an increase of American voters have a dimmer view of how our president views our country:

Most voters (69%) continue to believe that American society is generally fair and decent, showing no change from last month. Only 21% see society as generally unfair and discriminatory.

When it comes to the president, only 39% think Obama believes society is fair and decent, the lowest level measured since he took office. Forty-five percent (45%) say the president views American society as unfair and discriminatory, down four points from July.

Politico weighs in:

Barack Obama’s Big Bang is beginning to backfire, as his plans for rapid, once-in-a-generation overhauls of energy, financial regulation and health care are running into stiff resistance, both in Washington and around the country.

The Obama theory was simple, though always freighted with risk: Use a season of economic anxiety to enact sweeping changes the public likely wouldn’t stomach in ordinary times. But the abrupt swing in the public’s mood, from optimism about Obama’s possibility to concern he may be overreaching, has thrown the White House off its strategy and forced the president to curtail his ambitions.

Congress had better be paying attention… 2010 elections are coming up. And despite what the White House has laughingly said, Americans DO have good memories. And they’re hoppin’ mad…

I'm a conservative frugalist. My priorities: Watchdogging the government, making sure our tax dollars are spent wisely, living within our budgets (at home and in Washington, DC), and adhering to our Constitution and the conservative principles upon which it was developed by our founding fathers. Also, loving God, my family, and my country. Be wise, be frugal. God bless America!

The possibility of the impeachment of Obama after the 2010 election, considering the fact that acorn, and the seiu are going to try to intimidate the voters, and skew the election results, Obama will never be impeached due to the fact that he has in place an immense machine that will destroy any attempts to impeach, unless we put conservative, steely spined representatives in the house and the senate that are will willing to confront his machine.
MM’s book Culture of Corruption is a must read.
She exposes the web of favors, and corruption that is insidious, and infested within this congress, and the administration.
At no time in our lives has this corruption taken place, with such speed, and to the extent to which it happening right now.

2010…we vote again. LET’S MAKE THIS ONE COUNT !
