Good Grief, Barney Frank’s at It Again… Relishes “Reshaping” Nation’s Financial Institutions (Levin video encores)

Congressman Barney Frank (D-Massachusetts) wants Congress to have unprecedented control over US financial institutions
This is scary, delusional hubris… of which our least favorite congressman from the land of the Red Sox is infamous.
Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts, who denies vehemently that he was any part of the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac meltdown and instead, blames George W. Bush for the entire mess, is now writing legislation so that Congress will have unprecedented power over US financial institutions.
Why don’t we all just give our paychecks to Barney? It looks like that’s the dismal direction we’re headed with this power-grabbing administration.

Frank focused on reshaping US finance – Congressman relishing pivotal role in overhaul
By Sasha Issenberg
August 25, 2009NEW BEDFORD – US Representative Barney Frank became a YouTube star last week after a town-hall meeting in which he likened a constituent to household furniture, but much of his summer has been spent in uncommon quietude.
As chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Frank is busy assembling a complex bill to give the federal government unprecedented control over the country’s financial institutions.
[...]
Frank says the legislation is necessary to help fend off future episodes of financial panic. Hedge funds and derivatives traders would have to operate under new limits. A financial products safety commission would regulate the consumer marketplace, down to payday loans and check-cashing stores. Federal officials would gain new powers to unwind failed financial institutions.
In addition, Frank hopes to secure congressional auditing authority over the secretive Federal Reserve, a proposal he describes with phrases – “Ron Paul agrees with that’’ and “secondly, Ron Paul agrees with this’’ – that are jarring coming from a liberal Democrat. He comes close to smiling when describing his narrow alliance with the cranky Texas libertarian and former presidential candidate who is on the committee and whose distrust for the Federal Reserve has led him to propose abolishing the paper money system.
“I am boasting about this,’’ said Frank. “Being chairman of the committee is different than being an individual member. Your job is to try to get public policy that is going to be workable.’’
[...]
Frank has also turned his attention to raising money for his own reelection and those of Democratic committee members, said spokesman Steven Adamske. Frank has raised more than $750,000 on his own behalf so far this year and has given the bulk to other Democratic campaign committees. Approximately $100,000 of it comes from insurance and finance interests, according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, but Frank discounts the idea the money has any influence on his work…

Two revealing videos of radio talk show host Mark Levin, exposing a number of Rep. Frank’s lies back in April 2009. I posted these in the spring, but they warrant new scrutiny.

It has always confounded me how these crooks get re-elected year after year.
I read Glenn Beck’s book where he exposes gerrymandering.
Michelle Malkin’s book Culture of Corruption is an expose’ on what we are up against.
The machine that is in place can be dismantled in the next election, if we vote them out.
Barney Frank denigrated one of his constituents to the extent of “talking to a dining room table.”
The arrogance of these people is astounding.
Hey,… if Barney loses his job in the government, he can always revert to the private sector.
I’m sure he still has some boys that are willing to work for him.
2010…we vote again !
I detest everything Barney Frank stands for and has done to this country. His power-grabbing, greedy, socialist mentality is a primary reason for so many financial problems America is facing.
Excellent comments, AFVET (the final one made me laugh out loud!)
God bless, and let freedom ring!
I don’t know when people are going to understand the damage that Barney Frank has done to the nation. The people in his District seem to turn the other way and vote him in again and again. I say that those of us who think that Barney should be voted out, should support his only viable challenger, Earl Sholley. If everyone in the country who loathed Barney Frank gave Sholley a buck, the guy would have more that enough cash to beat Barney. http://sholleyforcongress.us
