Obligatory Ted Kennedy Motorcade Funeral Route Information… No Mr. Potato Head Balloon?

The media and Democrats are all a-twitter (and a-Twittering) about Sen. Edward “Ted” Kennedy’s death and his upcoming motorcade and funeral. I really have better things to research today, so this is about all I’m going to write on the subject… unless something truly wacky happens, like, say, the Mr. Potato Head parade balloon bursts away during the funeral motorcade.
Just kidding… I’m not confusing Kennedy’s growing circus of a funeral’s motorcade with Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. All the activities and tributes that are being whipped together right now are going to make Michael Jackson’s memorial service look like a kid’s backyard puppet show.
I honestly think having a hovering hot-air balloon of Mr. Potato Head would be really cool to add to the Kennedy funeral motorcade (read between the lines if you want). I’d vote for that.
I’m not being disrespectful, I’m being impish. If you want to see/read about disrespect of the dead, check out Remember Dancing On Reagan’s Grave at Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion. The moron featured in William A. Jacobson’s blog post… HE’S disrespectful.
A snippet from Liz G. at news.gather.com:
I feel very fortunate to be a Bostonian today, as I’m stationed on the Ted Kennedy motorcade route and can easily have a chance to say goodbye to the great senator.
The motorcade route was designed to pass through key points in Senator Ted Kennedy’s life. It starts in Hyannis Port at 1 PM, moving into Boston’s North End around 2:15 PM, up the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway, to the State House, and down to the JFK Library in Dorchester. If you’re in Boston, you might want to stand by City Hall Plaza, or on the Common (up towards the State House).
If you want more “up close and personal” time with Ted Kennedy, you can go to his public viewing tomorrow from 10 AM to 4 PM at the JFK Library.
