Where’s All the Left-Wing, Anti-War Outrage? Majority of Voters Believe Afghanistan War Will Worsen in Next 6 Months

The only anti-war zealot who was loud during Bush’s administration and is still going strong (although older, so maybe not so strong) is Cindy Sheehan. As much as I despise her anti-military message, I sorta-kinda admire her a bit for her blind loyalty and tenacity to her cause, albeit a cause I loath. Her radical left-wing ranting is consistent no matter who is in office.
Ahem. Where are the other left-wing, anti-war (qualifier: only if a Republican is president) screamers and conspiracy-theory nuts? Rosie O’Donnell? Joy Behar? Alec Baldwin? Matt Damon? Barbra Streisand? Sean Penn? Janeane Garofalo? Code Pink? *crickets chirping*

No vile anti-war, anti-American comments or protests against The One killing babies, peeps, just against George W? Or, have you suddenly decided that the “War on Terror” is indeed worth fighting, that standing up for freedom is important? If so, good for you. But, hey, I’m not holding my breath. Hollywood’s still churnin’ them out… and poor Cindy Sheehan misses you guys LOTS.
That’s OK. It’s really-really HARD being a wealthy celebrity, and even harder to be sincere when you’re a statist in hypnotized lockstep. Hollywood’s still churnin’ the anti-military garbage out…
Here’s how the majority of real Americans responded to a poll on how they feel about the escalating war in Afghanistan:
Rasmussen Reports: Most Voters Say War in Afghanistan Will Worsen In Next Six Months
Fifty-five percent (55%) of U.S. voters now expect the war in Afghanistan to get worse during the next six months, a 14-point jump since the beginning of the month. Confidence is also down in America’s conduct of the War on Terror.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only 19% believe the situation in Afghanistan will get better, down three points from the previous survey and down 10 from early July. Another 18% say the situation will remain about the same over the next six months.
Sixty-two percent (62%) of GOP voters and 60% of voters not affiliated with either major party say the situation in Afghanistan will get worse, compared to 47% of Democrats.
President Obama earlier this month declared U.S. military action in Afghanistan as a “war of necessity,” and just 33% of voters now believe it is even somewhat likely that U.S. combat troops will be removed from that country by the end of the president’s first term.
After the mixed results from the recent Afghani election, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the commander of all U.S. and NATO military forces in the country, said today that a new strategy for battling the radical Islamic Taliban is necessary. He is also expected to ask the president to send more U.S. troops there, which is sure to be very politically unpopular.
Decrying anything, per the shallow statists, is desirable ONLY if a Republican is in office. If it’s a Democrat in office… good luck finding ANY Democrat with half a brain to entertain the thought that what was considered “bad” during Bush’s presidency could also be “bad” during Obama’s reign. Ah, the sweet aroma of hypocrisy…
