Not So Far-fetched: If There Had Been No Attention Paid to Obama’s September 8 School Speech… (update)

The political graphic below was sent to me by fellow conservative blogger Russ at Vigilcanis (Watch Dog).
Potential alternative message to today’s presidential speech televised to America’s school children, had no one—no conservatives, no educators, no Republican lawmakers, no parents—had no one spoken out, demanding information in advance about the speech.
Not so far-fetched, methinks:

…Barry’s innocuous speech to school kids today in my opinion is the proverbial camel’s nose under the tent, the beginning. It’s creepy, like Orwell’s 1984 creepy, and is indeed the modus operandi of a leftist dictator not a President of the USA, we’ll see. In further context and we must belabor this point, this is a guy that thinks Van Jones is okay, Reverend Wright is a misunderstood uncle, Bill Ayers has a point, so my suspicions are not just paranoia but founded in hard evidence, Barry cannot be trusted with our children, I hope I’m wrong?
From Bill, a comment posted at HillBuzz, in response to what parents intend to do today with their kids regarding the Obama speech and their feelings about the speech:
HB – I am surprised to read today that some Chicago area schools won’t be showing Utopia’s speech. I didn’t bother reading the content, but I read the highlights. The WH has pointed out how innocuous this was, but my response to them is what was the original draft?? Can they say that they’ve not modified it when the outrage emerged? This is the type of responses this WH responds to. They think they’re still in the honeymoon phase where they think that everyone loves them. Their delusion is only exceeded by their arrogance.
And this snippet from Sean:
As a father of a 5th grade girl and 2nd grade girl, I’m not sure what I will do. We don’t start school until 2morrow, the 9th, but I’m sure our super Obama loving teachers will DVR it for them to watch. My kids are going to the beach 2day so they wont see it at home. I wont be watching it because I cannot stand to hear this guys voice, he just sounds like the worst used car salesman ever. Maybe I would watch it with my kids if this guy didn’t surround himself with all these crazy wackos and anti-USA people. I just dont trust this guy, and I don’t think I ever will…
From yttik:
Our schools aren’t showing the speech. Kind of funny, it’s the first day of school and they’re really busy and they just don’t have time to accommodate the president right now. According to the official notice, the first day of school was scheduled a while back with all the assorted lists of tasks that need to be accomplished and trying to make time for the president’s speech is just too inconvenient. They regret the scheduling conflict.
And lastly, this excellent comment from Lynn G:
Sigh, I kept arguing with my sisters friends last night about why it is wrong for Obama to give todays speech. I explained it was:
1. A pathetic attempt to salvage his plummeting approval numbers by exploiting children. (Look at me with these cute kids! Forget all about the Van Jones scandal, and my failing domestic and foreign policies!)
2. That is is wrong to use tax payer money for political advertising. That my taxpayer money should be spent actually allowing teachers to educate children rather than wasting my money and the time of teachers and children on this farce.
3. That his newly edited questions and speech on “perservence” was only edited to remove his socialist, partisan agenda after the parents raised a ruckus.
4. That it is wrong deny parents the right to opt their child out of this speech and thus force these children to listen to a message their parents disapprove of.
5. That Bush Sr. only made a speech in a classroom geared towards children once, and it was aired on CNN, not broadcast in every classroom possible.
6. That is was exploiting both the children in the classroom with Obama and the captive audience of children in the classroom. I explained that exploitation is when you use someone or something unable to refuse you in an attempt to benefit yourself. Which goes back to point 1.
They couldn’t find any wholes in my logic, although they really didn’t like me pointing out that this exploits children. I think that struck a liberal nerve. HeeHee! So they kept trying to argue that I was not being respectful. When I asked what was disrespectual about telling the truth they finally gave up.
I have never been so grateful that my 23 year old sister is smarter and wiser than her peers. She and I don’t always agree on politics but we have always fallen in the moderate to conservative side of the spectrum.
UPDATE, OBAMA PLANT ALERT: From his speech, the final question… here’s the Twitter alert: Why can’t the United States have universal health coverage? So much for the “do well in school, don’t be a bum” speech. Was the question asked by a fake Obama-bot doctor?? Here’s an odd/suspicious Obama statement from the speech. Is he still referring to education, or has this slyly dipped into Welfare Entitlement Land? Yeah, I’m a cynic through and through.
Summary snippet about Obama’s speech from The Sundries Shack:
…The whole thing would have blown over pretty quickly if the White House had just released the speech a week ago so that we had more to see than just the instructions to teachers that went along with it. Plenty of people, myself included, objected to the rather Soviet tone of the supplemental educational material and expressed what we consider a healthy measure of distrust when the White House’s reply to our objections was “trust us”. It’s hard to trust a guy who has yet to keep a single campaign promise and whose big pledge not to raise taxes on the poor and middle class lasted about as long as a Twinkie in a Big and Tall Mens’ shop.
Love the Twinkie line…

Hmm, the original speech was, I believe, scheduled at 50 minutes. Today’s speech clocked in at about 18 minutes. I would *love* to see what 32 minutes were left on the cutting room floor after parents kicked up on this one.
becbeq,…I would love to see what was trashed before THE SPEECH to the school children.
This current government is finding out that the American People are awake and watching, along with Great Americans like you.
BTW, you found a GREAT BLOG !!
Wow, that’s significantly longer than I would have thought would have been excised. But you know how long-winded that socialist double-speak can be, right?
Good research on that one, becbeq… two thumbs up, girl!
TWINKIE HAH ! LOVE IT !
