When Yelling “You Lie” Is So Much Worse Than Booing (video)

During Pres. Obama’s anticipated (or dreaded) speech to Congress last night about ObamaCare, it seems appropriate that the left-wing media is going nuts. Insanely nuts because one Republican congressman, Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina, yelled “You lie!” when Obama said that he promised that the new health care bill would NOT cover illegal aliens. Wilson has since apologized, but no, no, no, no, no! That’s not good enough!
The Dems want blood, dammit!
Heckling or yelling at or booing a president is evil and unprofessional. Punishable by shunning, maligning, and painful hanging from the nearest tree.
But only if that president is Democrat. LOTS of emotional, hypocritical outrage expected. Fair game otherwise.
William A. Jacobson at Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion uncovered this video from January 2009 of Democrats booing exiting Pres. George W. Bush, and he’s listed on his blog a number of major networks’ commentaries covering it. No outrage, no request for respect or apologies, but a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor at Bush’s expense.
Double standard again, but that’s old news anymore.

The Left is in high dudgeon — never letting a moment of manufactured outrage go to waste.

Back to the speech. Does the health care bill indeed permit coverage of illegal aliens? As written now, it doesn’t exclude them. So, YES, it does. Rep. Wilson was correct, although unruly.
Democrats apparently left a number of gaping holes in the bill. When a vote to add language that would most definitely exclude illegal aliens from coverage was shot down by congressional Democrats not too long ago, it makes what Joe Wilson did less disrespectful and more truthful than the Dems are being now.
Rep. Wilson, you’re a man with a spine. Maybe you shouldn’t have yelled this out during the televised speech, civility and courtesy and decorum and all that good stuff (this isn’t the floor of Parliament, after all), but you echoed what millions of Americans were also thinking at the same time. And now, the Democrats can’t be weasels and sneak it in, HA! You brought attention on a national level to a buried issue that many of us have known about for ages in the government’s health care bill and the Democrats have denied.
Bless you, Joe, for yelling out those two impetuous words.
You’re a new hero on the conservative front.
We’ll have to see how this ObamaCare thing unfolds. I’m guessing that a lot will happen to the monstrosity bill before it is put up for a vote. Unless Nancy Pelosi can pull off a major magic act by strong-arming those in Congress who are opposed to it.

I would never have apologized, let the spineless wimps beat me up all they want to, I said what I said and that’s what I meant.
I guarantee that there were a lot of Americans out there screaming RIGHT ON !!!
Drudge said that Wilson’s web-site crashed later that night, and money was pouring into his democratic opponent’s coffers.
We are dealing with thugs, scare tactics, and the preying on the fear of any if their opponents.
This is not the America we grew up with.
Obama will not give up on this issue. It is in his mind his monument to history.
Beck suggested today that his administration will eventually implode from within.
I agree.
IMO, Obama is beginning to become afraid of what he is up against.

My husband said there’s an old saying about doing what you want and know is the right thing, not worrying about the consequences, and then later apologizing. Joe Wilson lifted the skirts on this issue, that’s for sure. And the Dems are going to hate him more for this later than they realize.
Can anyone remember much else from the speech? I think this was a stroke of pure genius, although I doubt Rep. Wilson did it intentionally. He yelled out impetuously, from the heart, and from what I’m now hearing, campaign dollars to him are starting to pour in to his fund this morning. Huzzah! Although the mainstream media is still up in arms, spewing and frothing over it… I always love a good MSM spew/froth, don’t you?
