Child Prostitution Scandal Noticed by Congress: ACORN Cut Off from HUD Money by Senate, 83-7 Vote, Plus Hannah Giles on Red Eye (video)

ACORN's corruption is surfacing in leaps and bounds with the 'Pimp and his Ho' undercover sting of child prostitution and tax fraud support
Just the beginning, gang, just the beginning.
Tally so far: Baltimore, Washington DC, New York City ACORN offices… aiding a pimp and his “ho” to avoid paying taxes on illegal sex money, giving advice on how to house children from El Salvador and forcing them to be prostitutes (and how to claim them as dependents on income taxes!), how to hide the illicit sex money in a tin buried in the backyard, how to rephrase “prostitute” on paperwork so loan will be approved (hey, how about DANCER!), and how to work up the loan paperwork so that funding this pimp’s savings account so that he can have the funds to “run for Congress” in a few years won’t be detectable on the loan.
And this is all done with TAXPAYER MONEY (if you haven’t watched all the other videos, you must, otherwise you’ll miss out on the growing number of inside jokes about ACORN… links below). ACORN really goes the extra mile to help “poor people” build illegal businesses from their homes.
If it weren’t so tragic, it would be hilarious.
OK, it’s both tragic AND hilarious.
Any bets on what major city will be exposed tomorrow by O’Keefe, Giles, and Breitbart’s Big Government? Wonder if New York Times has stopped ignoring this major story yet? And Katie Couric… she may still be lamenting the passing of Sen. Ted Kennedy, so is clueless about any of this.
Kudos to James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles for their gutsy undercover takedown of the corrupt ACORN organization.

H/T to Big Government, Breaking: Senate Votes to Defund ACORN – love the downplay of the “bad publicity” phrase in the AP piece. “Bad publicity” here is like saying that slicing off your hand with a meat slicer is an annoyance:
WASHINGTON (AP) – The Senate voted Monday to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN, a community organization under fire in several voter-registration fraud cases.The 83-7 vote would deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
The action came as the group is suffering from bad publicity after a duo of conservative activists posing as a prostitute and her pimp released hidden-camera videos in which ACORN employees in Baltimore gave advice on house-buying and how to account on tax forms for the woman’s income. Two other videos, aired frequently on media outlets such as the Fox News Channel, depict similar situations in ACORN offices in Brooklyn and Washington, D.C.
The Senate’s move would mean that ACORN would not be able to win HUD grants for programs such as counseling low-income people on how to get mortgages and for fair housing education and outreach.
Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb., said that ACORN has received $53 million in taxpayer funds since 1994 and that the group was eligible for a wider set of funding in the pending legislation, which funds housing and transportation programs.

ACORN Institute has filed two separate applications with the Commerce Department [for stimulus money]. One in the amount of $3,172,042 and the other in amount of $2,999,903.
The grant description reads as follows:
“The Digital Empowerment Project bridges the digital divide in low-income and minority populations by promoting adoption through grassroots outreach, training participants in computer centers; and providing in-home computers and broadband access. This approach is based on research-driven practices and ensures an efficient and scalable effort to facilitate broadband in disadvantaged populations.”…
As The Examiner has previously reported, ACORN remains eligible for over $8 billion in federal funding through stimulus money and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Meanwhile, Jonah Goldberg enjoys the cosmic irony of ACORN becoming radioactive under “their dream president.” I’ve wracked my brain trying to come up with a devil’s-advocate defense of the group and here’s the pathetic best I can do: Hannah Giles looks like a movie star, which makes her about as convincing a prostitute as Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman.” If that didn’t set off any alarm bells at ACORN, they must not be used to dealing with pimps and their clientele. Good enough? No, not for me either. Incidentally, I’m hearing through the grapevine that there might perhaps, maybe, possibly, perchance be a few videos from her and O’Keefe still to come…

I recently heard that the NEA, (teachers union) gave ACORN $1.2 million.
Timing ?
I fear that Acorn providers will find a way to fund them, and SEIU under the table, obviously
with our money.
Obama is bound to start wiggling pretty soon.
