ObamaCare just keeps on getting suckier.
This latest revelation about ObamaCare is so tyrannical and Orwellian, who can even begin to make up this dictatorial crappola? And who, with a shred of ethics or patriotism, can go along with it?
As so many before me have written, ObamaCare has not EVER been about Americans being healthier, not EVER about people having the best, most affordable health care.
It’s all about government POWER. Debtors’ prison was eliminated in the United States more than 100 years ago, but now left-wing extremist Democrats in Congress are planning to launch a new tyrannical, heinous health-insurance prison. If you can’t afford or don’t want health insurance, and don’t want government-run health care, well, golly, you’re going to be fined to the high heavens and maybe even incarcerated with real criminals, the violent kind you see snuffing out the lives of average people on CSI New York… tough cookies, buttercup, you didn’t have mandated health insurance, so it’s your own fault.
Major leftist news sources are turning a blind eye (AGAIN) to this outrageous ObamaCare revelation about huge fines and jail time if Americans don’t have health insurance. Next to no information has been forthcoming from the major news networks or print media about the IRS being the upcoming heavy-fisted enforcer of the proposed government-run health care system. As usual, the Fringe Media has given this newsworthy story virtually no attention.
From Politico, Flout the mandate penalty? Face the IRS:
Americans who fail to pay the penalty for not buying insurance would face legal action from the Internal Revenue Service, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation.
The remarks Thursday from the committee’s chief of staff, Thomas Barthold, seems to further weaken President Barack Obama’s contention last week that the individual mandate penalty, which could go as high as $1,900, is not a tax increase.
Under questioning from Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.), Barthold said the IRS would “take you to court and undertake normal collection proceedings.”
Ensign pursued the line of questioning because he said a lot of Americans don’t believe the Constitution allows the government to mandate the purchase of insurance.
“We could be subjecting those very people who conscientiously, because they believe in the U.S. Constitution, we could be subjecting them to fines or the interpretation of a judge, all the way up to imprisonment,” Ensign said. “That seems to me to be a problem.”
Ensign’s argument, however, wasn’t persuasive to the committee — which rejected an amendment from Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) to eliminate the individual mandate.
Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) was the only Republican to vote with Democrats to preserve the mandate.

Under the health care bill being considered in the Senate Finance Committee, Americans who fail to pay a penalty for not buying insurance could be charged up to $25,000 by the Internal Revenue Service or face up to a year in jail, according to congressional analysts.
That’s just one of the concerns Republicans say the Democratic-run Congress is ignoring in the rush to pass legislation to overhaul the nation’s health care system.
“The American people expect us to get this right and to do it in an open, honest and bipartisan debate. That’s what they deserve,” said Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., in his party’s radio and Internet address Saturday. “But that’s not what they’re getting from the Democrats on Capitol Hill.”
…Isakson and other Republicans say the Baucus bill is too costly and would require too much government intrusion into the health care system.

…Republican Senator John Ensign has revealed that the bill (in whatever form it takes) will include a provision making it a crime, punishable as a misdemeanor, to fail to either purchase “acceptable” health care coverage or to pay the tax for not having coverage.
At one level, the threat of imprisonment as an enforcement tool for the health care mandate is perfectly understandable. The tax on those who do not purchase acceptable health insurance is not a revenue device, it is a means of coercion. So if the tax is not sufficiently coercive, then jail is the next option.
As I have said before, get rid of the mandate. It is the tip of the iceberg of government intrusion into the most personal aspects of your life, with a jail cell waiting.

Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance.
Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it “Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold.”

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO AMERICA ?
The USA of memory is quickly fading. Purchase health care (“acceptable”) or be subject to fines (?), jail/prison (?)…and administered by the I.R.S. (?)….I never thought I would see the day. The “government” and those behind it continually demonstrate where they are taking the USA – the depths of hell.
America, wake up….the elimination of the middle class; it is taking place before our very eyes. The nationalization (government control) of our daily lives; it is taking place before our very eyes. Our freedom is very slowly and very covertly being constricted.
We need not worry about Iran, Afganistan or North Korea; no we need to redirect our eyes and ears to our very own soil, the U.S.A. The threat to our existence is from within our own borders.

I am a health care professional,mother of 4 children, and I was born here. I think this is ridiculous! I will not pay for health insurance even if it means going to jail. I will fight to be free in every way. Obama is communist! We cannot let this happen!
