I believe that the American people can see the distinction between a Late Night jokester and a Politician Or Religious Preacher who preaches one thing and lives another. And I also believe that the American people will have more compassionate about this situation, but who knows what the court case will reveal. I guess sexual harassment suit can be filed (I have not heard of one) but until then, who cares what consenting adults do. We all know that there are laws for regular folks and laws for those who have influence and power. Kinda like the military they all get different spanks for different ranks.

Let’s remember “Those who are not willing to give pardon and mercy are those that do not need pardon and mercy. By the way, who are any of us to cast stones?

Remember you always need to watch out for the people that are quick to cast stones and shout “Sinner” because they usually turn out to make the largest transgressions.

One minor point I clearly indicated 2009 or “Current Events” (“Republican 2009 Summer of Love”), but I see your point and to that end the couple of people that screwed the “Republican Party” in 2008 were Republican Senator Larry Craig (IA) and Representative, Mark Foley (FL), and former American Evangelical Pastor Ted Arthur Haggard or what people remember of them “bathrooms stalls, (underage) male interns, gay men hooker sex”.

I only wonder do all of you practice what you preach or have you been part of another “summer of love” List. Take care, had fun hear. Live the dream.

Excellent point on the Republicans who have had affairs, Paul, one that I've written about in a previous post. To me, an extramarital affair during a marriage is wrong. Period. I don't draw a line, saying, "Oh, I'm Republican, so any unfaithful bastards in the GOP is A-OK with me. I can excuse that type of loathsome behavior if it was committed by a Republican. And being an unfaithful worm of a husband is fine if that person is in show business." NO WAY.

It's wrong. Period. Not just for one political party or another. Marriage is a sacred bond between two people, and I have no sympathy for violation of that bond. I've decried Sanford and other Republicans for being low-lifers and for not taking the high road, which you would know if you had read my previous posts. So, please clarify... are you saying only Republicans should be held accountable for their despicable infidelities, that only they should be expected to honor their marriage vows? I ask this because you seem to have carefully chosen to ignore mentioning the following unfaithful Democrat weasels (and this is just a short list) who have had publicized affairs:

Democrat Sen. John Edwards - with love child as a result
Democrat New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer
Democrat Florida U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney
Democrat Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick
Democrat Kentucky Governor Paul Patton
Democrat West Virginia Governor Bob Wise
Democrat Gov. David A. Paterson
Democrat Mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa
Democrat Reverend Jesse Jackson (was a presidential candidate) - another love child as a result
Democrat Mayor of San Francisco Gavin Newsom
Democrat Kentucky Governor Paul Patton
Democrat Colorado Sen. Gary Hart

The extramarital affairs of JFK, RFK, Ted Kennedy, and Bill Clinton are legendary. So don't poke your finger into the light socket by weakly singling out unfaithful Republican leaders... Democrats have more than their fair share of vile "horn dogs." GOP or Dem, IT'S WRONG.

Excusing Letterman because as you put it, he was "never a Family Values" type seems blatantly hypocritical. That would be like excusing a burglar from B&E crimes because he never was the "respect other people's property" type. If cheating on a wife is OK for a liberal, it should be "OK" in your book for a conservative to cheat on his wife, too, right? Or is it one set of rules for one and a different set of rules for the other?

You standing up for Letterman being a sleaze, sleeping with female staff members, announcing it on national television and embarrassing his wife, and putting his female employees into a sexual harassment situation with his multiple sexual dalliances, because he's a powerful figure in the entertainment world (and is/was their boss), sadly speaks volumes about your own moral compass... or lack thereof.

Letterman is fine; he never was the “Family Values” type. Yes, he probably cheated on his girlfriend now wife. But at least he does go around claiming he is Mr. “Family Values” like some of our politicians (can you just see the grin on all “Fake News” reporters/ commentators and the Palin fringe). This has been a tough summer, for Dave, for our economy but at least he did not end up on the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Sanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC).
