If vanity were cash, President Obama could pay for the health care plan out of his own pocket….Nay, out of his petty cash pocket. I haven’t seen such blatant arrogance since the early days of Camelot. Tis’ evil, I know, to speak ill of the dead, but JFK took us to the brink of nuclear war through arrogant ignorance and naivety. Obama seems bound on the same course. The far left seems to live in an isolated utopia that most of us don’t understand, let alone embrace. It’s not that we wouldn’t all love to live in the sun drenched land of dreams where we are adored by all and our one true love comes leaping toward us in slow motion, chiffon trailing in the soft zephyr of the wind, but most of us wake up and are forced to see the world in the harsh reality of the cold, bright eastern sky.
He looks at Jehadists and sees someone who would be our friend if only we would make a few insignificant concessions and apologies. We look at the same people and see someone who wold take all we offer and kill us anyway simply because we are breathing. Unfortunately, Camelot never reached it’s maturity. Had it only happened then when we could have learned the harsh lesson of capitulation during a time of relative innocence. Now, I fear we will pay the full price for folly in blood and fortune.
Obama is a very handsome and charming young man. He has a way with words that remind me of Anthony’s “Friends, Romans, Countrymen” speech to the Roman Senate. However, no despot has ever been defeated with words nor had his attention turned away from his perceived prize. In another time and another place, Obama could have been a great president. Now, I fear he will be remembered as America’s Neville Chamberland.
